In 2013, The Atlantic reported that Wyoming only has two escalators. This made me think of the question: how many US counties have no escalators? I'm not expecting anyone to have the answer, but it is interesting to think about. Does every state have a county with no escalators?

Two likely states where every county has an escalator are Delaware and Connecticut.

BART has more escalators temporarily out of service than the total number in Wyoming. LOL.

I wouldn't be certain of Delaware.  There are no large communities in Sussex County, so there very well might not be an escalator there.

I also would wonder about some counties such as Windham in CT.

Wait, what? Two escalators? In the whole entire state? Wyoming is weird....

Where do people encounter escalators?  The only places I can think of are airports, stadiums, and indoor shopping malls.

Based on that, I can't think of any place in Cass County, Missouri, that would have an escalator, and Cass County probably has a higher population than most counties in the U.S.

Well Windham has Eastern Connecticut University. Mind you I'm talking about possible ones, not guaranteed ones.

I took a look at Sussex County, DE. It does not have any large malls, but it does have the Sea Colony vacation rentals. The buildings look big enough to potentially have escalators.

West Virginia might have some counties w/o escalators. Maybe other areas of Appalachia as well?

Good for Wyoming's health.  Let's move! Take the stairs instead of the lazy stairs.

This may very well be one of the oddest forum boards but I'm sure there are many counties in Kansas with no escalators.
