I am curious to see what Atlas members believe in regards to the possibility of an afterlife, divine judgment, and ghosts. So, what do you guys think about those subjects?

1-1. I believe in Heaven or some equivalent after death
2-1. I believe that, if a spiritual afterlife exists, there is divine judgement (this is where things get complicated for me - I believe that after death we do witness or reflect on our experiences on earth, but I'm agnostic on the question as to whether souls are sent to eternal hell or destroyed)
3-1. I believe in the existence of ghosts, demons, and hauntings

I believe some kind of afterlife is possible, but see no evidence for it.

1-2 While I think there is some form of Heaven, my conception of it differs considerably from the usual view.

2-1 I have a Universalist viewpoint. The judgement will not be a watchful one, but rather a separation of those unwilling to abide with the Divine

3-4 The next life will be outside our current spacetime.

I'd like to think Heaven is a real thing, but it's one of those things I'm so conflicted on that it's easier to say that I just don't believe in it. Part of the reasoning for it is that I don't like the idea of divine judgement.

1-2 ... I mainly answered this way because I think the way most people think about "Heaven" is intellectually lazy and not consistent with the type of extradimensional space (or perhaps it's not even a physical space at all anywhere) that would constitute a supreme being's concept of "Heaven."

2-3 ... Again, in short I believe that God could obviously determine the after-death fate of each and every one of us, but I do not believe He does.  I do not believe God would create anyone to send them to "Hell" regardless of what they have done on Earth.  Shoot me, I'm ELCA Lutheran.

3-4 ... While I wouldn't want to go stay the night in an allegedly haunted room (LOL, seriously, I have absolutely nothing to gain from that whether I'm right or wrong about ghosts!), I do not believe in ghosts.

1-4, 2-4, 3-4. I do not believe that there is anything after we die. We simply cease to exist.

As a Gnostic Christian, I do not believe in anything supernatural.

We do not know our full reality but should not fall to intellectual dissonance and believe things on faith, which is a belief without evidence.

Gnostic Christians have put away the things of children, the supernatural, as we do not think an ideology should be built on fantasy and the supernatural like Christianity and Islam are.

We have all seen what that causes.

Both Christianity and Islam have basically developed into intolerant, homophobic and misogynous religions. Both religions have grown themselves by the sword instead of good deeds and continue with their immoral ways in spite of secular law showing them the moral ways.

Jesus said we would know his people by their works and deeds. That means Jesus would not recognize Christians and Muslims as his people, and neither do I. Jesus would call Christianity and Islam abominations.

Gnostic Christians did in the past, and I am proudly continuing that tradition and honest irrefutable evaluation based on morality.

Regards
