None, honestly. By the time I was 4 I knew not only all of the states, but all of the state capitals. Maybe when I was 3 or whatever there were some I mixed up, but I can't recall.

Mississippi and Alabama especially screwed me up. Delaware was hard to remember too.

That's because Delaware doesn't really exist. This fictional state was imagined by Joe Biden during one of his restless all-nighters in college, so he can run for Senate one day without having to compete in a large field such as Pennsylvania. Some people, like Tom Carper, joined the joke for their own benefit.

I basically learned the states by playing around with 270toWin pre-atlas. I don't think I had trouble after that.

I've been able to identify them all since I was like 2.

Assuming you are referring stand-alone map of the individual states, not relative to each other's positions:
Wyoming-Colorado(Not really, just a little bit.)
North Dakota-South Dakota
Alabama-Mississippi
Arizona-New Mexico(Not anymore)

I used to really confuse AL and MS seven when they were right next to each other until I was about 14 or so.

Wait. They moved them away?

Yes, by our imperial decree.

Probably a tiny obscure state on the east coast like Delaware or Connecticut. I can't really remember a time when I didn't know US states. But if we want to talk capitals... there's a few there, like Pierre SD, and Harrisburg PA.

I think maybe I wasn't sure which was Kansas or Nebraska when I was 11 or 12, but I can barely remember.

How can people mix up North and South Dakota Huh

Delaware. I was blown away when I actually met someone from there. I kept asking them questions like they were from an exotic country.

I associate Biden with Pennsylvania more than Delaware.

As for the reverse question: easily Canada. I can find it on a map of the USA rather quickly.

I didn't have to know them until after I had already learned them, but I always used to thing the abbreviation for Hawaii was HW instead of HI.
