Bear in tree shuts down traffic in Colorado
A black bear shut down the evening traffic on a street in Colorado after climbing up a tree on Thursday.
Littleton Fire Department shared photos as firefighters worked with police to get the bear down from the roadside tree.
"Let's try this again: LFR assisted LPD in rescue of a bear in tree at Bowles and Snowberry. Bear is safely in the custody of Div. of Wildlife," the department said.
Authorities named the black bear "Little Bear" and the nearby road was closed in both directions for about an hour, as crews worked to bring the bear down.

I think it should be safe.

And what does Div. here mean?

Safe would not be grammatically correct, since it is an adjective, and there is no word right before it to be of any use.

Div. is the shortened form of division
