I seem to recall Coburn praising Mullin's '16 challenger.

Frankly, I hope this is successful. Mullin is a dingbat.

Ugh, I thought we've seen the last of Dr. No.

Aren't all Oklahoma Republicans dingbats? Save for Tom Cole, the crazy runs deep there.

I never really had issues w/ Mullin (compared to Bridenstine, who I dislike intensely).

But, as always, I respect Dr. No's commitment to principles. I wish he was still in the senate.

I've always found Mullin to be an absolutely awful Congressman who doesn't even pretend to hide the contempt he has for his constituents.  However, I agree about Coburn.  I disagree with almost all of his positions, but he always seemed like a decent guy and is certainly as good a Senator as one can realistically expect in OK.

He was also one of 44's only Republican friends in the Senate.

Safe R, but Mullin nevertheless very much deserves an ouster.

Let me rephrase: Mullin is especially dingbat.

Wouldn't be surprised if Bridenstine ends up breaking his term limit promise too, lol.

Bridenstine at least is the advocate for NASA and space exploration in Congress. Mullin doesn't have any positives.

I would be. If there's one thing you can say about nutty right-libertarian types like Bridenstine, it's that they almost always stick to their word.

(Almost, of course, because Ron Paul exists.)

I don't get all the hate for Inhofe and Bridenstine. They seem like genuinely nice people, ignoring their pretty bad politics.

True though that may be, their political views are still nutty. Even then, I'd give Bridenstine the benefit of the doubt over the likes of Mullin.

Besides, I'm pretty sure Bridenstine has his eyes on the governorship.

If I were center-left or left-wing I would hate Inhofe. The snowball thing was stupid and a good way to rile up left-wing anger.

But, as a conservative, I like him quite a bit on most issues.

I endorse all GOP primary challengers, so long as they're committed to making their opponents spend money on the primary Curly

Term limit pledges are broken about 99% of the time. They're really dumb.

I actually admire Tom Coburb for sticking to his, twice

This, completely agree. I'm no supporter of legislative term limits (undemocratic, can't tell people who they can't vote for), I think term limit pledges are stupid (it's basically unilateral disarming and can deprive those constituents of seniority), and if that was the only thing they broke that's no deal breaker for me. OM-02 seems like a place where the people would want/greatly benefit from seniority, which I don't see as bad at all. There's a ton of term limit pledge breakers in both chambers right now. Still, I do strongly respect people who stick with their principles.

So why can the government tell people who they can't vote for in Presidential elections? It's increasingly clear that the low profile Senators amass more power due to lack of term limits.

Markwayne is less of a dingbat and more of a perpetually irritated idiot. Bridenstine I would definitely describe as a dingbat.

Coburn's politics are out of this world but he's a guy with principles, and people like him quite a bit here even so long after he quit the Senate. But he also endorsed Markwayne's challenger last time and though the guy got closer than expected (60-40), Markwayne won. However, Markwayne's position thanks to his "lol who cares about term limits" stance and Markwayne's general ineffectiveness in congress, he'll probably lose this time around.

Tom Coburn is an FF. One of the few amongst contemporary Republicans.
