If Theodore Roosevelt never went into the Brazilian jungle in 1914, he would have lived much longer. At least we know that he suffered from tropical diseases like malaria and had a terrible infection in his leg when he came back home. He never fully recovered.

Had he lived longer, would have ran for president again in 1920? Before his death in 1919, he was seen as the favorite for the GOP nomination. If elected, how would his second presidency have looked like? Had the progressive wing of the party remained in control of the party? Does he run for reelection in 1924?

If he had managed to serve two more full terms, he would've at the end of his presidency been both the youngest president and the oldest president. I think the most obvious difference from Harding/Coolidge is that under Teddy, we likely join the League of Nations.

I could see him becoming a strong progressive Republican supporter, but I can't really see him becoming President again. Maybe he pushes Lowden, Hughes, Bonaparte, La Follette, or Johnson in 1920.

An interventionist isn't winning the Republican nomination in 1920.
