So, according to Republicans, banks and churches = good; labor unions, media, and colleges = bad.

Since when have banks ever been good? I can understand people thinking that about churches (although I strongly disagree), but banks and other financial institutions are truly, truly awful. Republicans seem to be embracing the worst institutions in our country, the ones that deliver absolutely nothing positive to society, while hating on two of the ones that at least try to do good.

Time to face facts: out own citizens are more of a threat to democracy than any foreign power

How are banks bad? Market economies need private institutions to facilitate the movement of capital.

Not surprising.
The GOP would rather you be ignorant, thus increasing the chance that they could brainwash you into voting for a candidate that likes to "grab women by the pussy" or would mock a disabled reporter.

Churches and religious organizations in general are a major source of charity and, for billions of people, a worldwide source of hope.

If only the people in charge of them made sure it happened that way, instead keeping it to 'emselves.

I'm pretty confident that atleast 40-45% of Republicans has a college degree, which makes it even more hilarious.

The data in https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/09/13/how-the-gop-became-the-party-of-less-educated-whites-and-donald-trump/?utm_term=.7cd0ebc8ae25 indicates about 30% of R or R-leaning voters have a degree; for D and D-leaning, it's about 36%.

Has someone informed the GOP trade schools and college educations are essential to the economic growth of tomorrow?

I can't wait to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars so that my kid can go to a diploma mill and learn to hate me for being part of the white-male power structure.

Amusing how Democrats seem to think a college education causes one to go from an ignoramus to an enlightened individual  Roll Eyes

For those in a STEM or similar field, a college diploma signifies that one has been taught enough such that they can display competence in a similar field in the outside world (and learn what they need to know in such an environment).

For those in fields with either little to no use in the market economy (ethnic studies, gender studies, sociology, etc.) or much fewer available positions than graduates (psychology, history, French literature, etc.) most of them would be better served learning a useful skill or gaining four years of work experience.

Some people who obtained a diploma in a useful field are not so arrogant as to suppose that the right path for them personally is the right path for everyone. Others are too dense to realize that they themselves did not obtain a degree in a useful field.

Independents like me should have been included in the poll. I guess if you say so, but the colleges trot out the evil white male, the cis white male, and then Dems don't understand why they are losing elections?

White males are the majority of the nation. Get it? Yes, there is white privilege, but using it to attack whites isn't working either.

Some colleges do great for the country, some colleges are just another unemployable grievance program.

Amusing how conservatives seem to think that humanity's intellectual forward path lies in stripping funds from institutions of learning and ridiculing the educated.

Actually, that's not amusing, that's horrifying.
