Pence is the obvious frontrunner - I don't see him sitting it out unless Trump has Christie-level approval ratings (very possible). Even then he may give it a go anyway - 2028 would probably be too late for him.

I think after 8 years of Trump, Pence would be DOA in the general by 2020.

Either Haley or walker. I want to say Rubio but I think his chance might be gone unless 2024 is a year where it's an incumbent democrat or a democrat from 2021-2025

If Trump is re elected: Pence. If Trump is somehow popular in 2024, then they can run him as a "third term." If Trump is unpopular, Pence is a convenient "Sacrificial Lamb" (a candidate destine for defeat) for the GOP. Nikki Haley is also a possibility.

If Trump loses in 2020: It could be Rubio, as I think the only way he'll get re elected to the Senate is if a Democrat is in the White House in 2022, Paul Ryan as he'll still most likely be the top Republican in Congress, Cruz, or if the incumbent Democrat is popular, they can run Pence as the Republican Walter Mondale.

I think the Democrats will win the White House in 2020 because nobody wins with a 36 % job approval and something tells me Trump's approval is likely to go worse.

And even if Trump is impeached before the 2020 election and is replaced by Pence, Pence is still a remnant of Trump's presidency so it will hurt him in 2020 and cost him the election just like the Watergate partly cost Gerald Ford the 1976 election after Richard Nixon and Watergate.

There is almost no way someone like Haley will win the nomination. If I had to take a guess, probably Pence, but I could also see it being someone who is much more like Trump. Maybe Ron Johnson, lol?

I think the GE will probably turn out like this (assuming Trump wins reelection in 2020):

If Trump is re-elected, Mike Pence is the frontrunner. Unlike Dick Cheney or Joe Biden, he's a traditional non-ancient VP who could step into the presidency in seven and a half years easily.

Nikki Haley, Ben Sasse, and Justin Amash are the top contenders. If he manages to win in 2018, and doesn't lose any other bids for re-election, Chris Sununu would be a strong candidate.
