Option 5. Though climate change will be addressed primarily through technology and private actions. No global agreement will ultimately curb climate change (too much potential for countries to cheat, developing economies want to rise up to middle class living standards, trying to get the global community on board for anything is a b**ch, etc). Investments into Green technology is what's gonna solve this.

America should be the leader on this front, and we shouldn't let China be the ones to sell green technology around the world while we're stuck in the 1800's mindset on climate change.

Climate change is a hoax invented by the Chinese that turned out to be real just by coincidence.

This. We should take action as soon as possible, but I don't think such major altercations that could affect the environment drastically will happen pretty soon. I'd say maaaybe 40-50 years from now, but not sure. Could be earlier, could be later.

It's definitely happening though naturally and by humans

I've been wondering why the left fails to make this argument for so long now. Going back in history, the emergence of the conservation movement was steeped in that spiritual tradition.

Not much of a religious left left and the rest of 'em are averse to anything without what they see as logical.

I'm willing to accept a solution which doesn't involve more taxing and more regulating

Not true make alternative energy cheaper then traditional sources then I will buy them . If not I will of course by the traditional sources .

So do you support renewable energy tax credits and/or subsidies?

The anthropogenic global warming deniers loose their credibility when they use too many arguments.

Some of them say that the earth is not getting warmer. Some of them say that the earth is getting warmer because of the changes of the sun radiation. If the earth is not getting warmer, it is not possible to say that the earth is getting warmer because of the changes of the sun radiation.

and was full of conservatives and Republicans.  Then the PR arms of both sides said "this will not do!", and they started attacking each other and getting defensive in return.  The actual polluters are the worst, but every freaking one of us is complicit and deserves our fair share in the blame for going along with them and buying the things made by them.

You know how you accomplish this? By taxing and regulating.
