New Jersey is an overpopulated hellhole with rude people. I would take Nebraska any day.

Nebraska is great. (This is true of most of the Midwest that doesn't overlap with the Rust Belt.)

I would probably pack up and move to Lincoln tomorrow if someone offered me a comparable job plus moving expenses. Jersey isn't terrible, but I'm not sure that's true of any place in the entire state.

My current employer is actually headquartered in Lincoln. Not sure if you have the skillset for any of the jobs they're hiring for though.

I'm amused that I moved out of Omaha from the area right between "completely unremarkable" and "roads untouched since the Johnson administration". I moved out one month before the Johnson administration began. Was it something I did there?
it's weird.  Some of the nicest neighborhoods have the worst streets.  The streets between Westside HS and W. Center are some of the crappiest streets in all of Omaha and it's full of $250k-$500k houses.  You'd think those people paying all those tax dollars would bitch more.

maybe it keeps out the through traffic.

Probably New Jersey.

Either Bergen or Essex counties, or I'd live in Leeds Point and find the Jersey Devil.
