wouldn't the most tragic poster be that one poster who was actually good poster (compared to every other sock creator, ever) that made a sock and then left out of embarrassment?  I want to say SJoyner (or whatever his name was), but I might be miss remembering.

You're most likely referring to JSojourner. I miss him too. And it would be utterly hypocritical for me to criticize him for this anyway.

His sock was really good one, btw. IIRC the only thing that betrayed him was using the same IP.
