By the way, Jeff Sessions is an Eagle Scout and wasn't invited to the Boy Scouts event. Somewhat similar (though not nearly as extreme) as Spicer's lack of an invitation to meet the Pope.

And wasn't Tillerson president of the Boy Scouts of America for 2 years?

Yes. But CNN is reporting that Tillerson was present on Friday, and then probably had to leave to conduct other business ...

Trump fired another salvo in his war on Jeff Sessions:

Hey Trump, since you're not President Andrew Johnson, you're just too chicken to fire him. Sad!

Now he also attacks acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe:

McCabe probably also gets fired as soon as Wray is confirmed by the senate.

This president is an embarrassment.

What kind of sick sad universe is it when I'm actually rooting for Sessions?

Jesussssssss. Like, I'm pretty sure he thinks that if he bullies Sessions into quitting, he gets a new AG that isn't saddled by a Russia recusal, who he can order to fire Mueller. The problem is that there aren't really many options he could pick that would satisfy the requirements of loyalty to him and ability to get senate confirmation.

I agree the email investigation was handled horribly under Lynch but he shouldn't attack his AG.

Anybody think Trump's behavior with Sessions might be the straw that brakes the camels back.

I mean with Senate Republicans.

I mean if this is how Trump treats one of his most loyal supporters, why would anyone take a job from him?

Sessions should just say f it I'm out to preempt Trump but won't do that just yet due to whatever shred of loyalty he has left to Trump, feelings of not wanting to be seen as a quitter. He's the highest per share on PredictIt tho https://www.predictit.org/Market/3347/Which-of-the-24-people-on-Trump%E2%80%99s-Cabinet-list-will-leave-first

Also why would Cruz accept? Why give up his Senate seat for a spot Trump would probably fire him from in six months anyway? If this is how he treats a staunch loyalist like Sessions, imagine how he'd treat a rival.

I would laugh if Trump's taunting of Sessions prompted Sessions to quit, but angered him enough to write a scathing resignation letter in which he accuses Trump of interfering with the Russia investigation.  But I'm not holding my breath on that....

Why would Sessions resign? It's not like his credibility is at stake, Trump's is.

One irony about all this is that if in fact he fires Sessions or forces him out in some other way, that  means that the whole Russia collusion thing has claimed an actual political victim, and that Trump would now be playing into the hands of his "deep state" enemies.  If they can manipulate Trump into firing his most loyal cabinet member, what can't they do to him?

Call me crazy, but I don't think this has anything to do with Russia. Trump has a habit of doing things and then giving a reason for it that has nothing to do with the actual reason (such as when he cited the Rosenstein memo for firing Comey) Sessions recused himself months ago; why now?

I notice this decision comes days after Sessions' announcement on asset forfeiture. I remember thinking at the time, wow, this is the most unpopular thing the Trump administration has ever done. Some people are going to feel real, raw hate over this decision. I think Trump, with his good instincts, realized as much and has managed to fizzle the hate by skewering Sessions. Since the decision was bound to generate strong raw emotions, it was important that Trump deeply humiliate Sessions to mirror peoples' emotions. He's again getting Democrats and liberals to side with evil (in this case, Sessions) and putting himself on the 'left' (anti-Sessions) side. So even if his next AG continues the asset forfeiture program, they won't be associated with starting it. The raw feeling of anger will be gone. Trump is a very shrewd man who has been playing us all for fools, I fear.

It seems that Ryan is becoming increasingly more and more agitated having to answer questions about the Orange-Haired Clown and his immature conduct ....

That's one reason they're having difficulty filling positions. His own incompetence is another as he and his people aren't used to filling a lot of decision making jobs.

Not quite as crazy as blaming Clinton's loss on gamergate. Wink But personally I doubt Trump even knows about the asset forfeiture change...possibly doesn't even know what civil forfeiture is. As for why now, I think it's because the Russia investigation has heated up and is touching his family. So now it really matters that Sessions is recused and can't "protect" him on this.
