In line with the "What're your favorite sports teams" thread, what professional sporting events have you been to? What are some fun memories or stats from the game you remember?

1/5/2016: Washington Capitols 3, Boston Bruins 2. The Bruins nearly made a comeback, with Patrice Bergeron scoring a goal with only two minutes left to go in the third.

12/6/2015: Seattle Seahwaks 38, Minnesota Vikings 7. Cordarrelle Patterson returned a kick off for a 101-yard touchdown...2 minutes after we left the stadium. We were in the parking lot and heard the cheer.

9/27/2015: Baltimore Orioles 0, Boston Red Sox 2. This was Henry Owens' last win in the Majors.

7/3/2007: Baltimore Orioles 5, Boston Red Sox 3. David Ortiz hit two home runs.

Been to 2 FA Cup Finals, and various Rangers and Norwich league matches.

Been to a few Test cricket matches in England and Australia, as well as Kent first-class matches and Middlesex limited-overs matches. I'd love to travel to watch a match in Lahore when they start playing Tests in Pakistan again.

I go to the Kentucky Derby every year, although I skipped a year last year. I go with a few friends who share my Clubhouse box. I go to the opening weekend of both Keeneland meets every year with a different group of friends. Also go to races at Santa Anita if possible when I'm in LA, but while I love the view of the San Gabriel Mountains, it's hard to compare the worn paint and shorts-wearing atmosphere of Santa Anita to the country club green and jacket-and-tie atmosphere of Keeneland. (and they call Kentuckians rednecks... LOL) Also been to races at Saratoga, Kentucky Downs, Turfway, Belmont, Aqueduct, Indiana Grand, Arlington, Gulfstream, Del Mar, Evangeline, Delta, and Monmouth, off the top of my head.

Also go to races in HK whenever possible. I obviously prefer Sha Tin, but I do the Happy Valley thing if a friend wants to go. I've been to Kranji in Singapore too, but it's not great. I go to the St. Leger with a friend every few years, and I'm looking forward to going back this September. The two races I'd like to go to more than any other are the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp and the Arima Kinen at Nakayama.

2 NASCAR races (Atlanta and Talladega) (and an ARCA race in Atlanta)
1 hockey game in Atl when the Lightening played an exhibition game against their (at the time) minor league club in Atlanta
2 or 3 semi pro hockey games in Omaha (the Lancers)

MLB
Approximately 200-250 Yankees games - too many great memories though they've lost both World Series games - 2003 Game 6 and 2009 Game 1. Winning percentage close to .800 overall.

2 Nationals games
1 each: Cubs, White Sox, Angels, Athletics, Red Sox

NHL
close to 20 Rangers games
5 Devils games
1 Flyers game

NFL
Giants-Jets preseason game

NBA lol

NCAA Basketball
Villanova - probably just shy of 100 (obviously including 2016 Final Four plus two Big East Tournament championship victories and all NYC preaseason tournaments)
UPenn - 20
St. Francis (NY) - 2
Virginia, St. Joseph's, Temple, Drexel, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Princeton, Notre Dame
(intend to add DePaul and La Salle at minimum this year)

NCAA Football
~20 Villanova
~12 Princeton
~8 UPenn
5 Temple
1 Columbia
1 Notre Dame
(intend to add Northwestern and UNLV this year if it works out)

NCAA Lacrosse

2013-15 Big East Tournaments and probably 10 true home games

NCAA Hockey
3 Princeton

I'm an old, so I've been to a lot of pro sporting events. I got to see a Celtics-Sixers game that featured Bird vs Dr. J. High up on the the list was Game 5 of the 2016 WS, a do-or-die, momentum turning game for the Cubs. But perhaps more memorable was attending Game 1 of the NLCS vs the Dodgers a couple weeks earlier. I was sitting in the mezzanine at Wrigley looking straight down the 3rd base line to see the rare sight of a stolen home base by Javier Baez, then later in the game a pinch hit grand slam by Miguel Montero.

I have kept meticulous records of "major" (professional sports, major college sports) sporting events I have been to. These records include the score, attendance, most valuable player of the game, miscellaneous notes, etc. I have also kept records of how each team has done in front of me, as well as record at each venue.  While it would be too much to show all my records, here are my records for each of my favorite teams, as well as some of the most notable and favorite games I have been to.

                                              W    L      Streak
Illinois Fighting Illini Football     15   12    W2
Michigan Wolverines Football     7     6      L1
Illinois Fighting Illini Basketball  17   11    W2

Chicago Blackhawks                 1     4      L3

5/20/04 Giants 5 Cubs 3 First Cubs/MLB game; met AJ Pierzinski after the game (only pro I've ever met)
2/19/06 Illinois 70 Indiana 58 Sat next to tunnel and met Dee Brown and James Augustine
1/1/07 USC 32 Michigan 18 Game sucked, but it was the Rose Bowl
6/3/07 Cubs 10 Braves 1 Had great moment with my grandparents who loved the Cubs; First win on streak that led to Cubs winning the division
4/5/08 Kansas 84 UNC 66 Final Four
4/5/08 Memphis 78 UCLA 63 Final Four
4/7/08 Kansas 75 Memphis 68 Overtime national championship game; Derrick Rose; Chalmers shot

12/17/10 Blackhawks 4 Red Wings 1 Great win on Chris Chelios night in Chicago
8/12/12 Bayern Munich 2 Borussia Dortmund 1 Great win in the DFK-Pokal Supercup
9/7/13 Michigan 41 Notre Dame 30 Under the Lights II
5/20/14 Cubs 6 Yankees 1 Jeter's Wrigley Farewell Series
11/2/16 Cubs 7 Indians 7 Witnessed history as the Cubs won Game 7 of the World Series

I do, but to be fair about 7 of those football wins and 5 of those basketball wins are against early-schedule teams that Illinois has absolutely no business losing to. Now that I am an alum and will probably only go down for conference or other interesting games, my winning records will probably wither away....

We were not great that year but it was cool to see a game there. Was upset they negotiated out of a game at Ohio State

I saw Vandy MBB at MTSU, @ Thompson Boling, WBB @ Harvard & Belmont. 3-1 with an embarrassing loss to the Blue Raiders. I also saw the blocked FG loss to MTSU game for Cutler's Dores in 2005. I knew he was good but not great even then.

I considered going to play-in game 2 seasons ago in Dayton - glad I didn't

Being such a big Vanderbilt and college football fan, I might try to go up to South Bend for the Notre Dame game next year.  I want to see all of the great environments.  I might try to do Neyland this year since it's such an easy trip for me and I know people over there (in addition to the MTSU road game, but that barely counts).
