In protest of Trump's new Communications Director hire. Trump did not ask for his resignation.

Really ? Is this factual ?
Do we have a link to the story on this yet ?

Never mind. It's in the NYT article link, in the OP above.

Speculation (and it's probably true) was that Spicey wanted the new communications director to report to him, and Trump said no

@johnrobertsFox: "The Communications Director does not report to the Press Secretary"; both report directly to @POTUS.

I can't wait for Reince P. to quit and the alt-right to formally take control. It will make the fire rage even more fiercely as Trump gives into his worst instincts and things spiral out of control.

Well, Reince is already pretty powerless for a chief of staff, isn't he? In which major decision was he involved or a key figure? NOTA. Sure, we're only six months into this administration, but still remarkable. Bannon is definitely the most powerful dude in the WH after Jared and Ivanka. I would consider it a really bad thing if McMaster resigns.

Scaramucci is alt-right?

Anyway, Spicer is a decent guy who was in the wrong job. It's good for him to go.

Read what I said. Bannon is most likely the biggest beneficiary of Reince Priebus losing out. I said nothing about Scaramucci's loyalties; it's more that the establishment is being shoved out. I want the nationalists and the alt-right in control because they have no experience running the government (which the establishment side does) and I want them to let Trump run wild. The destruction of this side of the GOP will follow and I don't want my people shouldering responsibility when it comes.
Characterizing Bannon as alt-right only discredits you. Bannon is leading Trump's defensive efforts and has no time to shape policy right now, even if Reince quit. Trump isn't really happy with Bannon for standing up to him, but he knows he needs a fighter who will never back down in his corner, so that's why Bannon's still relevant.

Trump's instincts are to surround himself with people he knows, because he fears nobody else respects him. He doesn't have any ideological instincts.

trump should "fear that nobody respects him," because NOBODY DOES !
And it's his own fault for conducting himself like a jackass.

Gee! I wonder why nobody respects him! Even after his genius idea of appointing a right-wing radio host to the top scientist position in the U.S. Government!

Well, I might be wrong.

It looks like Scaramucci was opposed by both Bannon and Priebus but backed by Kushner and Ivanka. Even better. The chaos intensifies as the three power circles fight even harder.

As I predicted, Trump's family is guiding his Administration with the nationalists second. I can only imagine this will end well.

This is not strictly true. We may agree that Bannon may not be a complete alt-righter but he is only a few degrees removed. Indeed, he shares a lot of their concerns. Enough to broadly characterize him as such.

Bannon has led the charge for alt-right and nationalist policies like restricting immigration and restructuring trade deals. The alt-right - or strictly, ethnic nationalists, as I characterize them properly - are more worried (like you are) about the death of America's white ethnic hegemony and the "globalist agenda." (An agenda I am happily in favor of). I'm undecided if they're pro-Russia or not.

Strictly speaking, Richard Spencer and the anti-globalist/ethnic hegemonists that denote the alt-right have cachet in the White House that broadly shares their agenda. We know this because for example, you wouldn't be as supportive of a traditional Republican like Mike Pence. We know they aren't in favor of the traditional GOP.

The "alt-right" was a much bigger tent back in 2015. Richard Spencer's "Hail Trump" stunt marked the end of the branding war between the multiple factions of the alt-right, and it ended with a decisive victory for the white nationalists. By the pre-2016 definition of alt-right, perhaps the likes of Bannon, Milo, Cernovich, and various paleocons and libertarians could've been described as being on the periphery of the alt-right. But in 2017, alt-right is clearly associated with WNs like Spencer and the non-WNs have largely coalesced around the "alt-lite" or "new right" banners. The alt-lite is more civic nationalist and largely disavows identity politics of any kind, while the alt-right in 2017 largely centers around white identity politics. The two groups hate each other, and are not merely two factions of the same movement. So if we're still talking in 2017 terms, Bannon is not even on the peripheries of the alt-right.
