How plausible is is that this happens in real life?

I have no idea, but I believe there is an actual chance.
Other than the weird Carson and McRory appointments to the cabinet, Kasich's presidency seems solid so far. Carson is especially puzzling as Kasich seems to emphasize on a competent government with results, and Carson is anything but competent.
Great TL!

He needed to calculate some appointments. You'll see more into that soon!

2022:

The year started off with Former President Trump suffering extreme heart problems and being in the hospital for months, Kasich visited him many times, and Trump's attitude toward him softened. The Reform Party was still third in the House and the Senate before the midterms, but they were kingmakers. The Reform Senate Caucus didn't give any major party any clear majority. In September, former President George W. Bush suffered a stroke, and Kasich, Obama, and Trump visited him. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke announced his intent to resign as Secretary of the Interior, potentially for a 2024 bid. He was succeeded by House Republican Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers. She was replaced by Doug Collins. In August, Pat McRory also resigned from his cabinet post, and was replaced by former Ohio DOT Director Jerry Wray. Former Alaska Governor and 2008 VP Nominee Sarah Palin started an exploratory committee on March 5th, 2022, and vowed to "Bring a real Trumpist message to the White House" if she ran. Former Senator Rick Santorum also announced his intention to explore a potential 2024 bid. Not much significant legislation except for Education and NASA funding passed, until around September when the House and Senate agreed to balance the 2023 budget. In October, Terrorist Attacks rocked Montreal and Moscow, killing around 230 people. President Kasich offered his sincerest condolences to the Canadian and Russian governments, and vowed to help them.

Wow, that field is mad. Carson would still be sleepy, so I predict a Palin nomination right now, but it could really go any way.

after the Democrat and well... Reform candidates pop up, I'll give you all one update on each field until Iowa, when it'll sort of cobine itself. I am too, he's in his 70's, boring, so who knows maybe the Alaska whack job wins? Maybe someone competent wins, maybe the Repulicans want an outsider?

He's a "tell it like it is" candidate. He even cursed...  Oh never mind, I'll give you a rundown of a debate in the next GOP Update Wink

President Kasich announces Re-election bid!!!!

President Kasich announces his intent to seek re-election to a crowd of thousands of people in Cleveland,OH, October 8th, 2023.

"...Hello, America!!!! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve, it's been hard, but I love the job. I love being able to serve the public and to improve their lives, it's a truly humbling experience. We've been able to keep our promises we made four years ago, we've founded a national party able to break the partisan gridlock.

We've got a balanced budget, we're slowly going to start reducing the deficit, we've ended the interventions we were bogged down in, we've brought a sense of normalcy to our country. We've been through some tough times, but the future is ahead. It appears that America is on the horizon, we're thriving.

We've done so much in so little time, but more is needed. That's why I'm asking you, the American people to please re-elect me and give me another chance... I want the best for our great country, I want America to be that shining city on a hill. Please, vote for me if you want a strong successful America!!!! I love you all, God bless our great country!!!..."

Rundown of the Democratic Primary field up to Iowa:

The Democratic Primary field was rocked by the withdrawals of Senator Kaine and Mrs. Sarsour in November, but Merkley and Whitmer seemed to pick up more supporters from the chaos. There are fears of a primary echoing 2020, where the Democrats had a brokered convention, or 2016, when they were slightly less united. The Debates have managed to produce Merkley, Whitmer, Masto, and Gillibrand as the most "interesting" candidates. In December, Martin O'Malley decided to withdraw from the race, citing fundraising concerns, most likely for a 2025 DNC Chair bid. The Iowa polls seem to favor Merkley or Whitmer, though. Although Fmr. Gov. Jared Polis has been picking up a lot of steam, if my be too little, too late. Senator Masto's numbers went down, however she's pushing hard, second place is within reach. With about a week before the Iowa Caucus, anything can happen.

Withdrawal from O'Malley!!!!

Fmr. Gov. O'Malley announces suspension of campaign in Iowa City, IA, December 2nd, 2023.

"... Well, I'm withdrawing from the Presidential race, three campaigns have shown me I will most likely never become the President. I'm too "boring", however my ideas are ideas that can be used that will make more Americans successful and happy. That's why I may run for something else soon, to improve people's lives..."

Iowa Democratic Caucus Poll (January 16th, 2024)Sad

Sen. Jeff Merkley: 23.4%
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer: 19.8%
Sen. Catherine C. Masto: 10.9%
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand: 9.8%
Fmr. Gov. Jared Polis: 6.5%
Mayor Bill De Blasio: 5.6%
Gov. Andrew Cuomo: 5.6%
Fmr. Gov. Deval Patrick: 5.2%

Rundown of the Republican Primary field up to Iowa:

The Republican field suffered several losses in November, but in December, even more rocked the GOP "chaos field" as dubbed by Fmr. Gov. Jeb Bush, who CNN apparently thinks is still relevant. In December, despite high poll numbers, Fmr. WH. Comms Director Anthony Scaramucci declined to continue his campaign, despite high poll numbers, and a decent chance to win Republican primaries. The Iowa competition is likely to go to Fmr. Sec. Carson, although Fmr. Gov. Palin and Sen. Tom Cotton are right on his heels!!! Senator Cotton emerged as a strong, young conservative figure in the debates, he's doing good in most Southern state polling with Iowa his only exception, but he can't really do well outside of that circle. Let's see what happens on the wacky Republican side!!! Fmr. President Trump praised Secretary Carson, Fmr. Gov. Palin, and Fmr. Sec. Zinke, saying Republicans should choose from among them. The former President is the most unpopular president of the century so far, with Palin and Zinke publicly praising Trump, it's not likely they can be anywhere near competitive in the General. Plus, Palin's disaster our debate performances have sunk her numbers. Can the 73 year old former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development win Iowa?

The "Mooch" withdraws!!!!

Fmr. WH. Comms Dir. Scaramucci withdraws his White House bid in New York City, NY, on December 15th, 2023.

"...Look, you may think I'm a fool to withdraw with such a good potential at winning the nomination, but I'm really not. I've come to the conclusion that I don't have what it takes to be President of the United States, if I won it could risk the country's future, and I will never do that for my own personal gain. I'm just not experienced enough yet, however trust me, I'm exploring a run for the House. I think I could serve my country best there. Some people will look to me and ask why did I choose a House race over a GOP Presidential race where I was poised to win states, and to that I answer with I believe I can best serve my people in the House of Representatives..."

Fmr. Gov. Herbert no longer continuing Presidential bid!!!

Fmr Gov. Herbert withdraws on December 29th, 2023, in Salt Lake City, UT.

"... I can't do this anymore, I haven't made much of an impact that is necessary to continue my bid. This movement will live on, Former Secretary Carson is the clear man for the job. Please vote for him!!!..."

Iowa Republican Caucus Poll (January 16th, 2024)Sad

Fmr. Sec. Ben Carson: 22.1%
Sen. Tom Cotton: 20.3%
Fmr. Gov. Sarah Palin: 16.5%
Fmr. Sec. Ryan Zinke: 12.0%
Gov. Greg Abbott: 8.7%
Gov. Eric Greitens: 7.6%
Fmr. Gov. Bruce Rauner: 5.2%
Rep. Greg Gianforte: 2.0%
Mr. Peter Thiel: 2.0%

Iowa, Iowa, Iowa:

Iowa Democratic Caucus (100% reporting):

Sen. Jeff Merkley: 27.6%
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer: 26.0%
Sen. Catherine Masto: 13.4%
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand: 8.7%
Fmr. Gov. Jared Polis: 6.7%
Mayor Bill De Blasio: 5.9%
Gov. Andrew Cuomo: 5.2%
Uncommitted: 3.6%
Fmr. Gov. Deval Patrick: 2.9%

Fmr. Gov. Polis withdraws from the race!!!!

Fmr. Gov. Polis withdraws on Caucus night, January 24th, 2024, in Des Moines,IA.

"...Although we did better here than people expected, I'm withdrawing my candidacy for the Presidency. However you haven't seen the last of me yet, Colorado still needs me so all options are on the table there. I have to give my endorsement to a qualified candidate, Governor Whitmer!!! She's done well tonight, although she hasn't one, I encourage all my New Hampshire supporters and national supporters to make her the next President of the United States!!! The Reform Party, or moderate Republicanism is not the answer for America!!!..."

Rundown:

The withdrawal of Polis proved a good opportunity for Whitmer to win New Hampshire, where she was already leading. With Polis's support, she may pick up an extra ten percent. New Hampshire is likely to go for her, while South Carolina is sort of lean Patrick, the former Massachusetts Governor may have come behind uncommitted voters in Iowa, but in South Carolina he's leading. If he can do better, Clyburn and the Black community's support may push him over the edge there. Nevada is Safe Masto, as of now, Senator Merkley is regarded as a front runner, but the early states aren't favored to go his way.

--

Iowa Republican Caucus (100% reporting)Sad

Fmr. Sec. Ben Carson: 22.3%
Sen. Tom Cotton: 22.0%
Fmr. Sec. Ryan Zinke: 16.0%
Gov. Eric Greitens: 15.6%
Fmr. Gov. Sarah Palin: 10.1%
Gov. Greg Abbott: 7.7%
Fmr. Gov. Bruce Rauner: 3.4%
Rep. Greg Gianforte: 1.0%
Mr. Peter Thiel: 1.0%
Uncommitted: 1.0%

Rep. Gianforte quits!!!

Rep. Gianforte withdraws on Caucus night, in Ames, IA.

"...Look, I can't continue on anymore. It's not fair to the people of Montana for me to be distracted with this. So I'm quitting the contest, and I'm announcing my endorsement of fellow Montanan Ryan Zinke!!! He's tough, he's got guts, and he'll make a hell of a commander in chief!!!..."

Peter Thiel withdraws, "I don't care anymore"!?

Peter Thiel issued a rare tweet from his campaign's Twitter on Caucus night.

"Look, I don't care anymore. You obviously don't want a President Thiel. Vote for whoever."

Rundown:

Iowa was close, too close for Carson. Senator Cotton likely wasn't going to win New Hampshire or Nevada, he needed a win in South Carolina. If he won there, his fundraising would increase, and he could win more than just a couple Super Tuesday states. Most surprising of all was Governor Palin's collapse, she just did horrible on Caucus night. She is currently considering stepping aside, but some private aides have leaked that she "feels entitled to be President". New Hampshire is a toss up. Bruce Rauner seems to be making a lot of inroads there, though. Greg Gianforte's endorsement of Zinke is no big deal, it doesn't help much. But Mr. Thiel's tweet has been criticized by lots of the media, perhaps getting more coverage in one day than his entire campaign over the course of many months.

--

The General Rundown:

The real winner of both party's caucuses was President Kasich. The Reform Party's Iowa Caucus is unanimously decided for the President, with a couple write in votes here and there for Fmr. Gov. Ventura, who isn't contesting the Nomination. The other two parties, however seem more fractured than ever. The President's getting stuff done, legislation passed, and winning people's votes with actions while the bickering candidates do everything they can to destroy one another. President Kasich has blown the modern political world into shreds.

General Election Poll, January 28th, 2024:

Pres. Kasich/??? (REF): 53.4%
Democrat: 26.5%
Republican: 20.0%

The polling shows Kasich getting ~ 400ish Electoral Votes. The Democrats and Republicans are now extremely unpopular compared to Kasich, but you'll get more on that soon. Vice President Hickenlooper is likely to serve another term, but is considered a potential reform candidate for 2028, however he'll be around 76. The most likely candidates for the Reform Party in 2028 are Ben Sasse, Marco Rubio, Mark Eves, Andy Beshear, etc.
