Opinion of St. Louis Cardinals

As the St. Louis Cardinals are my favorite team, they are mostly an FF to me.

I like how they draft, scout and develop talent. Smart people run the Cards. Went down several notches when their employee hacked the Astros.

If it ain't the Home Team [this has entailed the Giants, A's, Nationals, and Orioles], the Yanks or Dodgers...I don't care that much, FF by default.

The Red Sox beat them in 2004 and 2013 so its not a big deal for this NL team - I did not vote as it is just a baseball team from the NL - who does not hold too much over the Sox (1946 and 1967 were before I was born). I do wish the Tigers had played better than they did in 2006.

I used to like Ozzie Smith - few didn't. And Pujols was a great talent as well. I definitely preferred them to the Mets or Braves. Depending on the season they were on par with the mid-pack teams I was indifferent to unless they got someone I really liked from the Red Sox or later Tigers.

Wasn't a Mark McGuire fan - definitely preferred Sosa to him of the NL juice era sluggers - but did like him better than Barry Bonds. These days there's little to get worked up about since I am not a regular day-to-day watcher and when I go to Comerica a few times a year the chances it is against the Cardinals is small.

I believe the only time I even vaguely wanted them to win was in 2011 - as I wanted to see the Brewers, Royals, Twins, Red Sox, Tigers, and Red Sox win in their other World Series that I was alive to see. Sorry Texas.

As an organization they are a consistent winning one - and they've got a loyal fanbase across much of the Midwest and Plains states that's despite not having a huge Superstation TV network like Atlanta, New York or Chicago did to ingratiate themselves to people from outside the market.
