72 hours for Debate
----------

My opinion of this bill is that it is a little bit too restrictive, and think that abortion after this time should be legal, as long as the patient gets the approval of at least 2 other doctors.

Okay. I think this bill might not pass unless I propose this amendment:

That should decrease the amount of unplanned pregnancies, and thus the number of abortions too. Which will also decrease the amount abortions outlawed from this bill.

Thoughts on the amendment? I'd like Lok to start a vote on the amendment after a nice debate.

I would consider the amendment friendly, but I cannot second them.

I liked 20 weeks personally, but I guess 22 weeks is a good start Tongue

I think that this is a wonderful start to reducing unplanned pregnancies and unnecessary abortions.

I do want to ask, would this be an outright ban after said time period, or would there be exceptions available in instances where the life of the mother is as risk, or if the baby is dying/will not live to birth, but has not passed yet?
(just as examples)

I think 20 weeks would be fine as long as additional safeguards are in place to protect mothers and children.

I look forward to seeing what happens with this.

I do think that there should be some clarification on any exceptions would be a good thing in this instance.

I still stand by that abortions after the allowed time should be legal if at least 2 other doctors agree, but I think that this is a good start.

Why not another amendment?

This switches it back to 20 weeks but also makes a few exceptions.
