The Roman Pope's statement is troubling. REBELLION IN IRELAND, JAMES STUART PROCLAIMED KING!

It all began in Cork, where the local clergy assembled thousands of Catholics under the guise of a religious gathering for Holy Week. On Easter Monday the people rose up and expelled the local magistrates and Protestants, setting off a chain reaction.

Whatever disputes we may have with France, Poland-Lithuania remains as firmly committed as ever to the church and the cause of our oppressed brothers in Christ.  This statement is an outrage against all of European Christiandom and the Polish-Lithuanian Confederation demands its immediate retraction and an apology for the wicked slander which has been hurled at the Holy See.  I have to believe this statement was the result of some grave misunderstanding as surely no man could be so foolish as to profane His Holiness' office by writing such foul blasphemies.  I can only hope that this statement is some vile forgery, perhaps even the foul product of yet another sickening scheme by the Holy King of Sin.  We condemn in no uncertain terms this infamous declaration, demand its immediate withdrawal, and pray that the Lord will bless the King of England with the wisdom to clarify this most disconcerting statement.  No Polish-Lithuanian blood shall be spent on a war against our Irish brothers in Christ.  These are good Christian men who must not be punished for the acts of a few radicals.  The cause against which we fight is French greed and megalomania.  It is my sincerest hope that this remains true of the English King as well...

My fellow Swedes and Scandinavians, we stand at a crossroads in our history. The perfidious forces of Prussia, Great Britain, and perhaps most of all Denmark threaten to steal our very independence away from us! In fact, just a short while ago, I received word that Denmark was demanding more influence in our court in exchange for peace! The presumption of Copenhagen and this so called “King” Frederick to make such demands when Christiana and much of Norway is occupied is beyond the pale, and shows the true nature of Danish demands, for they will not rest until all of Sweden is given to them on a silver platter.

I also speak to our cousins in Norway and Denmark. Do you wish to stand under the yoke of a power that would rather spend its time defending a distant Holland a patrolling the Baltic than actually safeguarding its own citizens? I would think not. I will be directing my generals in Norway to ensure that the rights of the Norwegians and Danes there are not trampled upon, but protected and that local laws remain in place. Sweden will continue to govern as it alway has. Whether in Christinia or Stockholm those living under the protection of the Crown will be treated justly and mercifully.

After weighting all the facts, His Sacred and Imperial Majesty's leading physician, a highly trained and respected man of science, concluded that King Louis XIV is suffering from severe mental breakdown, caused by an embarrassing trauma. ANNE OF HANOVER PASSES AWAY, FOUL PLAY INVOLVED?!

It was to the surprise and great sadness of many Dutch subjects when Anne of Hanover, the beloved regent, fell ill just weeks following her very public spat with her father. Over the course of her time in the Netherlands she had endeared herself to the people through allowing the Republic to function as intended and largely stepping back in regards to domestic policy.

Anne complained of a headache one morning but she insisted on continuing work, recieving her daily briefing on the state of the war and meeting with the diplomats from several other powers. After briefly retiring for a rest, she was found unconscious on the floor of her chambers that very same evening. By the next morning she was dead, never fully regaining consciousness. Within hours her former mother-in-law, and the grandmother of William V, was proclaimed regent by the States General. Unlike Anne, Marie Louise made clear from the outset that she would be actively enforcing the power of the Stadtholdership, intending on using her high popularity (from her previous stint as regent for her son) to establish the strength of the House of Orange. The Republicans were booted out of the administration within the week and replaced with loyal Orangists. Marie Louise, publicly lamenting the orphanhood of her grandchildren at such a young age made a public statement in regards to the war. "The best way we can honor my beloved daughter-in-law, the truest dutchwoman of them all," she told a crowd of assembled ministers, "is to continue the war and follow up on the victories she won for our people."

Naturally, the sudden death of Anne has raised many eyebrows. Republicans have openly accused the Orangists, and Marie Louise herself, of conspiring to poison the British Princess. They point to Anne's pro-republican actions as incentive for their party to take action. It was highly notable at how slow to deny these accusations some members of the new government were. Others suggest George II had his daughter killed after she so publicly insulted Great Britain by openly asking to be removed from the Succession. Pope Benedict XIV meanwhile, has credited it as the "will of God". Whatever the case, it is clear the Netherlands is under new management, though it will continue to fight and attempt to follow up on its victory in the Battle of Brussels.
