Dale Carnegie (How to Win Friends and Influence People) did not live long enough to witness the cultural and administrative effects of the successful Civil Rights Movement... but it is safe to figure that the people for civil rights were more likely to have read and heeded its advice than did the segregationists. I'm guessing that if he lived today he would discourage people from expressing religious or ethnic bigotry, sexism, or homophobia.   

All in all it is a bad idea to offend mass sensibilities, and racism is one such possible offense. Richard Spencer has violated the advice to try to be a good and likable person even if one isn't so likable. Bigotry, sexism, and homophobia  are effective ways to insult multitudes.

Funny enough, the video is classic "asking your parents for money" - call them out of nowhere, talk about everything you're doing, and then "oh by the way, I also need to fix my car..." near the end.
