I like it, but I listened to it on repeat for too long and now I can't stand hearing it anymore Tongue I just hope it breaks the YouTube record held by the idiotic, annoying Gangnam Style.

My wife and daughter who is 11 like it. My co-worker, who is Mexican was playing this song months ago before it became huge. I see why people like it - but it is not something I would gravitate toward. Certainly its better than Ed Sheeran or one of those whiny falsetto voiced guys who seem to dominate the charts in the wake of Maroon 5.

It's not the worst thing ever, but there's much better music out there. I'd go with a 'meh', since there's very little music bad enough for me to outright dislike.

I can't understand it. Maybe it's got to do with Luis Fonsi's Puerto Rican roots, appealing to North and South America at the same time. But the song is still meh.

It's a mix of timing, good luck and great management from part of the agents:

1. Until Justin Bieber recorded the remix the song was already pretty popular in Latin America but its popularity was actually fading. A typical popular reggeaton song has many views in Youtube between 0.5 and 1.5 billions of views).
2. Once Justin Bieber launched the remix, many people was attracted to watch a video on youtube with more than a billion views.
3. The song is catchy, so is very easy to attract a person who doesn't understand anything.
