The real Democrats are the coal miners in West Virginia, the factory worker in Detriot, the inner city teacher in Los Angeles, the single mom in New York, the farmer in the Arkansas Delta, or the middle class family in Pennsylvannia.

The real Democrats are the populist, common-sense, everyday Americans.

I was going to analyze each individual statement until I realized that they're all essentially the same thing: stating that all Republicans believe something hypocritical without any bit of proof (and implicitly stating that no Democrat has ever believed something hypocritical) and then using this completely illogical claim in an attempt to show that Democrats are better than Republicans.

Honestly, topics like this only serve to hurt Democrats.

Well, as far as I concerned, you can take #4 off the list.  While I disagree with Shira's politics and she often gets the math wrong, these are honest mistakes.  She doesn't try to distort.

I'd like to cut all ties with any of MissCatholic's partisan bitching, for the good and respect of the forum Democrats.

Have some spine.

Have an independent, rational thought

Nomo tended to have a little bit of trouble in this department, as well.

9) You have to believe that you love Jesus and Jesus loves you, and that Jesus shares your hatred of AIDS victims, homosexuals, and Hillary Clinton.

Wait, I'm Jewish. So your telling me that I can't be a Republican?

I don't need a list. I can just say "I agree with Democrats on a lot more than Republicans"

He's not really a Democrat.
Neither are you.

No but at least I like them more than the Religious Party.  I doubt the Virginian feels the same.

That is a quite reasonable answer.

I'm religious.  You can't call one party the Religious Party, because then you're implying that Democrats are atheists, which is a most untrue stereotype.

What does that have to do with my point? You have no right telling people how 'Democrat' they are (which is probably the biggest problem with the Democratic Party right now - their members' closedmindedness), much less telling them what party they belong in, even much less making unwarranted assumptions about their beliefs.

Atheism is just the least organized religion.  It is based on an inherently unprovable principal: There is no God.  This is unprovable due to the impossibility of proving a negative.

A truly areligious party would be agnostic.

Just one reason I don't post things like this:

1. It brings the level of forum discourse down to a level of cheap insults and yelling matches.

Besides everything else, name one national Republican who believes in all those things, or even half of those things.

Unfortunately, you didn't mean it as funny, so the responses you receive will not be light-hearted.  Except for a small partisan group, the majority on here disagree with your post and your attept at partisanship wedging.
