English - native language, fluent
Spanish - working knowledge, better at reading and writing than speaking.
French - some knowledge of basic grammar and vocabulary; could probably read a French newspaper and have a basic idea of what was being discussed.

Dutch?  Wow, that's an unusual one.  How did you learn that?

Born in the Netherlands.

Dutch and German are quite similar... perhaps due to the Germans invading us repeatedly over the centuries...

Cool.  Some of my family is from the Netherlands, way back.  Unfortunately, I don't speak a word of Dutch.  It would be fun to learn, if I had the time.  I've heard it's very similar to German.

In addition to English and Ebonics, I'm getting good at Russian, except not really.

Dude, that's pisspoor. Smiley  But you don't need to worry; you speak the language of love, the international language. Smiley

Nation, since you're apparently into trashy older movies (based upon your membership in the John Waters cult), did you ever see "Better Off Dead" with John Cusack?  I think it came out in 1985.  There's a hilarious scene involving this fat, nerdy kid and his equally fat and out of control mother, with the mother saying that her son and a French exchange student who's living with them are speaking the "language of love."  Of course she was delusional.  The girl was really cute and wanted nothing to do with her son; she was after John Cusack, who was pining after this bitch who dumped him.  Of course, they got together at the end, as always.
