US Pacific Command says there were three launches.  The 1st and 3rd failed in flight, while the 2nd blew up immediately after launch.

I wonder if US Pacific Command's involvement in those explosions was limited to monitoring? With North Korea's missile track record, it's hard to say.

One of these days, North Korea is going to launch a missile over Japan and its going to break up in air and actually hurt people.

"Talking is not the answer"

The U.S. has been talking to North Korea, and paying them extortion money, for 25 years. Talking is not the answer!

He's f***ing lost it.

He never had it.

He's also a complete blowhard and pathological liar, so this likely means nothing.

Uhhh, we don't recognize them or have any kind of diplomatic relations with them. That doesn't constitute two countries "talking" to each other. The president does not understand international relations even on the level of what you'd learn in an intro IR college class full of 18 and 19 year olds.

I knew that neither country had formal relation back when I was 12.

What will happen first: Trump releasing his tax records demonstrating the truth of his financial claims, or North Korea detonating an H-bomb?

I wouldn't be surprised to see the North claim they've detonated an H-bomb. Nor would I be surprised to see Trump release some tax records immediately afterward.

No. Even if we went to war with North Korea, it wouldn't be a world war.

Yep. And the reported yields are putting it in the range where it pretty much has to a be a fusion bomb.  I'm shocked. I really didn't think Kim Jong-un's regime would be able to do that.

I guess now I get to see if Trumpolini really does try to bury something damaging in the aftermath.

Threatening sanctions on China is certainly an interesting idea. Actually sanctioning China though, thats a disconcerting thought.

I don't think that will impress the Chinese. They know that it's either a bluff or that we would hurt ourselves dramatically. Suspending all business with China would, if possible, cause a recession.

It would definitely be painful for Americans, sure. But it'll be a lot more painful for China. The american economy can handle a loss of cheap Chinese goods and production.  Im not sure the Chinese economy could handle massive drops in manufacturing due to american exports being cut off though.

Edit: Some very large american companies should be worried though. I would not want to be the CEO of General Motors, Apple or Walmart right about now.

This country and the present administration is full of cowards, I would like Macarthur. Macarthur would destroy that country. We have to attack now.

So, uh, China?

Does anyone in China believe Trump is actually calling the shots in his administration? Or that he's capable of following through on anything?

I'll also point out that for all Trump's whining that diplomacy doesn't work, he has never actually engaged in any.

Diplomacy is rubbish, only an idiot does not see it after the failure of Obama and Bill
