The two countries capable of ending human civilization at the push of a button being allies would be ideal, no? Nobody said it was realistic.

I'm not against it, but Russia would ideally (while we're in that realm of thinking) reform a lot of its priorities and human rights policies before we openly paraded them around as an ally.
