Title is pretty self explanatory.
I will just do the Senate, but you could do the presidency if you want to.

The Nominees of each race would stay the same, as would their various gaffes and scandals, the only thing that changes is the national environment.

Here is my guess as to what would happen

2012 Senate races with 2014 national environment:

Republicans +3 (Looking back, the nominees really hurt them that year, there are a few seats I would favor Republicans in if not for the nominee, like WV, MO and IN)
A few seats I was unsure about, namely PA, MO, WV and FL
The Senate stands at a 50-50 tie with whoever the just got elected to VP being the Tie Breaker

2014 Senate races with 2012 national environment:

OK, SC are Special elections are both (R) holds
Republicans +4 (assuming Orman caucus with the Democrats)
The Senate stands at a 54-46 advantage for the Republicans.
A few seats I'm unsure about, like GA, AR, MT and KS.

Key:
>90=Hold
>50=Gain
