Schumer is a good leader, so far.

Durbin, Stabenow, Murray, Baldwin, Bennet, Tester, Van Hollen, and Warner would all be better than Schumer.

Yes. I have nothing personally against Chuck Schumer. He's an accomplished senator, but I think Democrats urgently need new leadership in congress. Amy Klobuchar, Claire McCaskill, Martin Heinrich or Michael Bennett would be good leaders. They are younger, more dynamic and still have a few years of experience. Same in the House. Nancy Pelosi is a great woman, but she should pass over the leadership to a fresh new face. Tim Ryan seems to be good alternative.

Yes. As Sir Mohamed pointed out, the Democrats need new leadership across the board. Younger, more progressive, less establishment.

Schumer isn't all that bad considering the options. There are better options probably, but he's making the right moves.

Can't say the same about The House.

No, both are the best we can get. Down the road on the GOP side, I would like Cory Gardner or maybe Bob Corker (too old?) or Kid Rock down the road though Thune is likeliest. The donkeys have uncertainty but Merkley is an intriguing figure in the leadership. Afraid Heinrich or Murphy would be the future though and both are just ok.

Yeah, I'd prefer Ted Cruz as the Senate leader (ideally though, he'd be President and someone else who's good like Ron Johnson, Lankford, Lee, or Rand as Senate leader).

Schumer sucks but if he wasn't there the job would probably go to someone who is just a different flavor of bad, like Mark Warner.

Very surprised at the Schumer numbers; he's had a pretty solid start (bought Sanders+Manchin into the leadership, kept caucus united for healthcare) and is generally pretty sound.

Senate leadership is a lot less about your national brand; and about personal relationships/skill sets. It's always bad if you're arguing that someone should get it based on their ideology alone, or the fact that they're young.

Likewise people both saying that Schumer is too old, and not progressive enough but then others saying we need Warner or Bennett just shows whoever you have won't be loved.

I can TOLERATE Chuck, but I wish Pelosi would retire from politics. She's utterly toxic to the Democratic Party's brand.
