Seems like just before the votes on police and prison abolition were taken, all the reasonable people decided to go on a little walk, probably to prevent the vote from having a quorum, rather than debate all the insane people supporting the motions.
assuming this spin is true, the least insane Socialists are bad at math....this is not surprising to anyone.

Surprisingly, a resolution condemning the Democratic Party was voted down.

Also, someone who works for a police department got elected to the national political council and now everyone is freaking out because they hate cops.

A very mixed bag of a convention to say the least.

Yes, because fighting against working class people like cops is a brilliant idea.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twcGwZIBrds (about the Boston Police Strike)

The member in question went to great lengths to hide his involvement with police unions (He is a prominent leader of the Austin DSA branch, and apparently none of them knew about this either) , something I personally have no problem with but many members do. The cover-up itself is what a lot of people, myself included, would like to see him resign over.

Basically everyone is calling for him to resign. The more respectable, professional people "because of the cover up" and most of the rank and file because ACAB. I honestly don't think the more respectable people would care though if they weren't afraid of the rank and file.

Wow! They're getting close to having as many voters as the average US county!

I'm really enjoying all the pundits decrying DSA leaving Socialist International, an organization they skimmed the Wikipedia page of moments beforehand.
Mainstream pundits have began to adapt to and outright use my own strategies?

I suspect a member of my inner circle is behind this. I hereby appoint Smilo as Intelligence Chief and order him to purge our inner circle of traitors.

I'm hearing conflicting reports a resolution calling for abolition of the police and abolition of prisons was also passed.

Ugh.

This is why socialism is taken seriously. LOL

Go hard or go home.

What the f*** does that even mean? Seriously? What in the seven Hells does that pushes Logan have to do with the Beyond stupid literally insane idea of abolishing police and prisons.

I hate to wish physical harm on almost anyone, but I sincerely hope several of the attendees get mugged.

It wouldn't make a difference. These people are completely detached from reality. They would literally say that the person who mugged them needed money more their money more than they did and shouldn't be punished for being marginalized.

I've seen it happen.

"What if people just didn't commit crime?" isn't serious policy, it's literally fantasy.

The whole spirit of the DSA is pushing the Overton window leftward. Part of that is going beyond Scandinavia as the ideal society to build toward. No prisons, no wars, no cops, no homelessness, no billionaires or millionaires, everyone is in a union and works 30 hours a week.

Also the free market is an unrealistic fantasy but no one tsks-tsks on the Libertarian convention.

The Libertarians are and will forever remain irrelevant and unpopular though.

Suggesting fully socialized medicine and nationalization of utilities would move the Overton window to the left and go beyond Scandinavian social democracy.

Saying abolish the police just makes you sound like an idiot.
