Sure people would feel good for a while, but the world (and US) economy would go into recession while the main tangible result would be boys coming home in body bags... in big numbers. Ask George HW Bush, Harry Truman, Lyndon Johnson etc. how that works out in the long run.

Most evidence suggests it's the military that started the hardline policy after Kim Jong Il's stroke in 2008, and he was the main moderate in the government until his death a few years later. One has to think if Jong Un's father Kim Jong Il or even his grandfather Kim Il Sung were there today they'd urge moderation.

Several months ago I read an article where some Trump voters were interviewed, and many of them indicated that they will switch their votes to someone else if Trump started another war.

War with Russia and/or in the Middle East again.

A war with Russia is a hysterical strawman. People who oppose airstrikes tilting the balance of an already ongoing war in the Middle East yet are totally indifferent to potentially starting a nuclear war in East Asia are like people who oppose slapping the child, but are indifferent to hanging him. They have no right to call themselves anti-war or doves.
