But I think even for Trump this is different. He has so tremendously screwed the pooch this time he literally defended a crowd of thousands of Neo-Nazi protesters. He literally defended a March of Neo Nazi sympathizers!

He said he condemned it. What else do you want?

... Today he literally jumped the shark. Did you watch that video? Did you? He defended and dear God Almighty even praised the white supremacists marching who were chanting Jews will not take us over as including very fine people. He wrote it off as people marching against a removal of a statue of Robert E Lee. Watching two minutes of that Neo-Nazi parade showed that was an event that brought together a white nationalist parade.
...

Reaganfan,

Badger is correct here.
Did you watch any video from the (Friday) night before the bigger Charlottesville rally ?
trump adamantly insisted in the trump Tower news conference with the media, that he saw the video, and he was directly defending the (night time) protesters regarding the removal of the statue of Lee.
The president described them as : "there were people protesting very quietly" and that they were there to "innocently protest."

That is a blatant, and obvious, lie coming from the president !
The white nationalist dudes (and some women) in the video were almost all carrying KKK inspired tiki torches. And very, very loudly they were all shouting (in unison) "Jews will not replace us" and "Blood and Soil" (a Nazi slogan). Some where also carrying (or wearing) other hate group flags and symbols. Any normal person would see their march to the statue, and their shouting as scary and hateful.

Here is a summary video describing the president's fallacy in detail. If you want to go directly to the part describing the events explained above, advance the video and start at exactly 4 minutes and 30 seconds.

This is not the decisive end of any credibility of President Trump. As one egregious affront to mass sensibilities fades, another usually develops.
