DO NOT VOTE until after midnight EST at the beginning of Friday. Any votes cast before this time will not be counted.

This is the one and only official ballot for the Mideast Propositions and Initiatives being voted upon in August 2005.

Voting will open at midnight EST on Friday 19 August, 2005 and will close exactly 72 hours later; Only votes in this time frame will be counted.  This vote is being conducted in accordance with the Election and Vote Regulations Statute and the Mideast Constitution.

If you edit your vote, or the post containing your vote, it will be counted as void. If you campaign in this thread it will be likely counted as void, and you may be subject to further prosecution under the Campaigning in Voting Booths Statute. It would be appreciated if you didn't comment in this thread other than to vote.

To qualify to vote in this election you must meet the activity requirements as defined by the Activity Requirements Statute, and be registered in one of the following States ten days before this election began: District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Virginia, West Virginia or Wisconsin.

Although no such federal requirement exists any more, you must still display a Mideastern avatar or have a note in your signature denoting your fantasy residence.  However, if Proposition 18 is passed, this requirement will be waived for this election.

Voting on the regional propositions and initiatives has now closed.  The results are as follows:

Prop 18: 8-4-1.  Failed, as a two-thirds majority was required to pass.

Because of this, the votes of Al and Peter Bell have been disqualified due to avatar restrictions.  That brings the result of Prop 18 to 7-4-0.

Prop 19: 6-5-0.  Passed.

Prop 20: 2-8-1.  Failed.

Prop 21: 11-0-0.  Passed.

Init 10: 6-4-1.  Passed.

---------

Voting on the two amendments to the federal constitution will remain open until midnight EST on Friday 26th August.  No more votes on the regional propositions and initiatives will be counted.

I will be away at midnight on Friday, most likely without internet access.  Therefore, I won't be able to close this booth and certify the results.  Lt. Gov. Dean has agreed to fulfil that duty in my place.
