Missouri state senator wishes for Trump assassination

I remember this woman. Missouri State Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal posted on Thursday morning (August 17, 2017) wishing that President Donald Trump was assassinated.

They are extremes on every side. She represents the same area that Missouri Rep. Lacy Clay represents (MO-01), where Michael Brown was shot and killed by a white police officer.

For some people that is very hard, bordering on impossible.

The thing is, whenever somebody on the left does something deeply immoral like this or even worse like the deplorable Scalise shooter, I become absolutely furious at them. And I suspect that most fellow liberals/progressives feel exactly the same way. But somehow when somebody on the right does it, most of the rightwingers choose to play the "both sides do it" game, shrugging it off, trying to quickly shift blame. It's like they are not even mad or moved, as long as it is "their people". It's tribal in a super scary and sick way.

The Missouri Democratic Party should expel her. No idea whether that's really something that can be done or not, but a formal statement from the party saying that the senator is no longer a Democrat would be appropriate, even if they cannot legally enforce a ban on her calling herself that.
