Serious question here.

If you currently dislike Trump what could he do to make you change your mind and support him?

On the flip side, if you currently are a Trump supporter, what would be something he could do to make him lose your support?

And let's keep this somewhat realistic.  So Trump supporters, no saying "back a liberal agenda".  The question to you is really what line could he cross to make you decide you cannot support him.

Absolutely nothing could make me support him, as he is a mentally unstable sociopath with no principles whatsoever. As for "support" as in vote for or wish for him to be in power, he would have to be up against someone far worse, and there are few of those.

3 1/2 year vow of silence. Although I still wouldn't vote for him.

Ok, I will take a swing at my own question.

1 - He could propose an actual reasonable plan for Healthcare instead of just denouncing Obamacare.

2 - Get North Korea to disarm.

3 - Denounce, in plain language, the Neo-Nazi's & KKK.  Really all he needs to do is stand up and say "I don't want there vote.  These guys are thugs.  If you see them, knock the crap out of them."

4 - Announce full cooperation with the investigation into ties to Russia.

5 - Release his tax returns.

Some combination of these could earn my respect.

I don't think there's anything he could realistically do to make me genuinely like him, but the thing he would do that I would 1) enjoy 2) think would be good for the country as a whole and 3) would raise my opinion of him, would be if he founded a new party for those who adhere to his ideology instead of trying to piggyback on the Republicans.

Those are good, although (2) is probably not doable.  I'll add one: nominate Merrick Garland for the next Supreme Court vacancy, if any.

Pass comprehensive tax reform, start supporting free trade and dump Bannon. He also has to be completely innocent of collusion with Russia.

I'm really eager to see a response from a Trump supporter.  Are there any of those?

For starters...

1. Publicly apologize for his behavior these past few years.

2. Make a promise that he's going to seek psychotherapy.

3. Delete his Twitter account.

4. Fire Steve Bannon, Stephen Miller, and Sebastian Gorka.

5. Rescind his decision to leave the Paris Agreement.

Serious answer.

As a President, nothing. Before I could or would support him, he would need to acknowledge his own mental health issues and other shortcomings. Doing so would be admitting he was unfit for office and lead to swift impeachment, even moreso if he started moving in directions that someone on the far left like myself would support.

He could publicly apologize, and announce that he was resigning for the good of the nation, and to seek help for his mental health issues. He could then spend some of his life and supposedly vast fortune truly helping to address the problems he has created and worsened as President. Useful criticism of the real flaws of our democracy would be a service he would also be uniquely positioned to do for his fellow citizens. I could then support him as a person and activist.

It's not impossible for me to change my view on him from negative to positive, but the following things are required:

(1) He has to start pursuing policies that I actually support (which hasn't happened so far).
(2) He has to show respect toward people/groups/institutions with differing opinions from his own.
(3) He has to sincerely apologize to people/groups/institutions he has offended in the past.
(4) He has to back off opinions based on fringe and/or debunked theories.
(5) He has to act less like an autocrat and more like a democratically-elected leader.

Realistically, I'm not expecting any of these things to actually happen, but I would love to be proven wrong on this front...

I would definitely enjoy this, especially if he did it in his trademarked Trump Tweet language, and didn't just post links.

If Donald Trump gave me a billion dollars cash, saved me from a burning building and hooked me up with Emma Watson I'd still hate his racist guts and vote for literally anyone else in 2020.

My answer isn't appropriate so I will just say that there's nothing he can do. Smiley

1. Apologize for his comments on Tuesday and have a "Nazi Punks eff Off" moment where he condemns white supremacists and the alt right with the same vigor he does the media and his opponents.

2. Stop acting like a buffoon generally

3. Promise to never launch a nuclear first strike

4. Stop being a protectionist

5. Call off plans for his border wall

6. Be cooperative and transparent in regards to Russia and his business issues, with the ultimate result being his being cleared in the investigation (not that he has control over the second part though)

7. Get some actual legislative accomplishments, namely replacing Obamacare with something decent and getting significant spending cuts.

Not that any of this will actually happen, though.
