So let's say for argument sake that Gavin runs in 2020, wins the nom, and picks Booker as his running mate to balance the ticket with a minority senator. How good would that ticket be

Someone like Brown would be a better running mate for Newsom. I don't think it matters that it would be an all white male ticket.
Booker is not that green and in some ways neither is Gavin he was mayor of SF for 2 full terms
