I wonder that a possible candidacy of Steve Bannon is rarely discussed. What if he entered the race in 2020 as the true anti-estbalishment candidate against Trump or Pence in the primary. And if nominated, how would he do in the general election? I think he would be crushed by the Democratic candidate even if it's a weak one. He may have the same appeal as Trump on the issues, but the Donald is a much better communicator and showman.

LOL. He's like a troll that lives under a bridge. He'll get the fringe angry white male vote.

Trump will lose some support if Breitbart full on turns on him, but most of his base will side with him over Breitbart/Bannon. A primary challenge to Trump from him would go nowhere.

No, because that would require him to wear a tie.

He would objectively be a horrible president simply in terms of effectiveness and productivity. A Bannon administration would get almost nothing done if he somehow managed to get elected.

If he managed to somehow get the nomination he's probably lose but there's no way anyone's losing in a landslide like that these days. The South and most of the western farm states would vote for literally anyone the Republicans nominated because if they don't "TE LIBERALS AND (((George Soros))) WILL ESTABLISH A WORLD COMMUNIST GOVERNMENT AND KILL ALL TE BABIES!!11!1!!!1!"

Bannon doesn't seem like someone who likes the spotlight. He'd rather be behind the scenes.

Bannon wins the PV by driving turnout in WV to 7000%, but he gets screwed in the EV. Fitting way to lose for Trump's former advisor.

This.

I see him as far more pragmatic than to launch a Quixiotic candidacy for President.  I thought of Bannon as a third-party candidate/independent candidate, but I don't really see that either.  Bannon's too sharp to burn all the bridges he'd burn by that.
