I read an article somewhere today saying 20 seconds of exposure would lead to temporary retinal damage and 100 seconds of exposure would lead to permanent retinal damage.

Someone who denies climate change might be less heedful of a basic warning about looking at the sun. Never look directly at the sun or through any magnifying devices without adequate protection. Look at it only with adequate protection or look at it indirectly, as with a mirror projection onto paper or cloth.
