Five Guys and In n Out are overrated.  Way WAAAY overrated in the case of the latter.  But Californians tend not to venture out of California, at least in their minds.

Culvers is the best, bar none.  And cheap.  The only comparable burger is Shake Shack for double the price and you have to deal with people from New York going all California In n Out over it.

Five Guys is about as expensive as SHake Shack for a lower quality burger (though it is still a good burger).

It's all about that crust.

Sheetz- which is a ready-to-go food place in Pennsylvania.

Sheetz is great, I usually always go to one whenever I go up into northwest Maryland.

Off of this list, I'd definitely say Arby's. Five Guys and Popeyes are easily run-up options though.

*checks vote tally* How can I be the only one who likes Arby's?

Arby's has great curly fries!

Zaxby's.  They've got legit full-sized fries and their chicken is at least as good as Chick-fil-A and they have larger portion sizes.

I loved their cheap, sh**tty foodbar. My family used to go every sunday after church before the one in town closed in like '05. Even Arbys curly fries dont seem as good as the Rax ones I remember.

Funny, that's when I went to Rax too, after church.  We didn't go every Sunday, but it was in the regular rotation.

I remember it was like 5 or 6 $ to eat from the foodbar and you could get surprisingly decent sh**tty pizza, pasta, chicken wings, beef stew, pudding, and breadsticks that were like crack. I will vote for any political party that brings Rax back.

Of the restaurants listed, Five Guys is the best.

In N Out and Culver's are also fantastic.

I ate at an A&W/KFC combination restaurant in Bridgeton, NJ back in 2009. I liked it.

It's just a KFC now. A&W is way more successful in Canada.

Of the fast food places I have tried in America, my favourite was Zaxby's.

The endless variety of American fast food fascinated me.

Subway would be my favorite but my God the love for Five Schlubs is crazy.  IT's horrible.  I'll take a Burger King Whopper if I want a burger.

I'm surprised KFC is not in the list above. I like chicken anyway and have lunch/dinner at KFC from time to time. But usually I'm not a frequent consumer of fast food. Maybe once a month or so. Self-cooked food, including burgers, is much better.

On my road trips, Subway and Panera get the most action. Panera offers great bread, bagels and pastries to go, important on a road trip for snack stops, and we can get a decent salad if we want to sit down inside. We can count on Subways even in towns with no other identifiable chain, and we can be in and out in 15 minutes if we don't want to eat in the car, or get relatively neat sandwiches if we need to keep moving and want to eat in the car. If we need breakfast on the go, Starbucks is often the fast food of choice with breakfast sandwiches and pastries.

I know angus has been MIA but I'm shocked he hasn't gone on one of his 500 word diatribes about how he likes his Subway tuna.  Wink

Chick-fil-A, easily, from your list.  However, Steak 'n' Shake is delicious and holds a special place in my heart as a native Central Illinoisan (it's to us what Culver's is to Wisconsin, both in terms of affection and shear number around the area).  Echoing muon's sentiment, Subway is the most regular stop, but that is because it's marginally more healthy and "light."

Chick Fil A isn't fast food, it's family

A family that doesn't care if LGBT people in Africa are executed, and in fact happily supports organizations that fought for African countries like Uganda. Thus, if you eat at that "family", you are (indirectly) responsible for literally killing people in that country.

Truett Cathy stopped giving money to the anti gay marriage groups. Then he died.
