Well it looks like the Governor stuck a deal on something with the teachers. I was waiting to see if the Governor was going to post what they agreed upon.

Assuming the bill is modified to meet these demands and only these demands, the cost of the bill would greatly decrease. The 0.2654% is offset by the elimination of the immediate pay increase, and the class size caps are all well over the average class sizes for schools in the South, so only very large schools would need to hire more teachers. The elimination of the immediate pay increase demand also means that the cost of the bill for the current fiscal year would be almost negligible (5 million plus the hiring of a few new teachers).
