With big aid from Congress unlikely, state election managers search for money to replace voting equipment, protect databases and train workers in cybersecurity — as threats loom in 2018 and 2020

What I can't wrap my head around is how despite Republicans being obsessed with "election integrity," to the point that they enact leagues of restrictions that cut turnout and spend tens of millions defending the laws in court, when it comes to actually securing elections with voting equipment that isn't barely functional, or securing databases, they not only do nothing, but in some cases resist action. It's almost like this obsession with "election integrity" is nothing more than a front for enacting laws that obstruct their political opponent's voters.

At what point is America going to realize that voting machines need to be regularly replaced, and that state networks need to be secured? Is it going to take a massively corrupted election to get some movement on this?

There needs to be serious steps taken to ensure foreign interference will not happen in 2020.

But since that's the biggest reason for Trump's unlikely and unprecedented win, he will do everything in his power to limit action against Russian hacking.

Republicans are very foolishly assuming that all foreign election meddling is going to be to their benefit just because it happened to be last year.

These people are blind to the hazard of foreign hacking. If in 2016 it was the Russians, in 2020 it could be the Chinese who might want someone other than Donald Trump as President.

Integrity of the ballot? All that matters to the Republicans is that the well-heeled heels get their way. Make America Great Again -- if by "great", you mean early-industrial sweatshops.

We need better election integrity, but not because of Russia.

Electronic voting is the worst idea ever lol. Can't believe it's so prevalent in other countries.
