Not sure if vs Trump he'd be able to get over the top in swing-state WV.

Virginia doesn't like anti-establishment politicians, but may hold its nose for Bernie against Trump. Florida, on the other hand, would be hard for him to win.

VA is not a swing state, even if Sanders is the nominee.  Although maybe it would trend R for the first time since '96.

I'll go with FL.  Or maybe NC?

I would definitely say NC and FL. I do think Virginia might trend to the right but I don't think he would lose it against someone like Trump.

Florida. NC was his best southern state in the primaries and I think the Research Triangle fits him better than NOVA, but VA isn't a swing state.

Florida. He will do better with younger voters than Clinton but the older ones will do him in.

Florida, maybe Arizona if you consider that a swing state.

Virginia, he's toxic in NoVA. Then Ohio, then Florida, then Iowa, then Pennsylvania, then New Hampshire, and then you'd have states with lots of rich Democrats (NJ) really despising him.

I'd say Georgia, if it counts as a swing state. Otherwise, Florida.

If we're counting NC as a swing state, then NC.  If not, then FL.

Even if you consider Virginia a swing state, people in NoVA likely won't even swing towards Trump since his approval among college educated whites in VA (and throughout the country) are poor.

Sure, Bernie is anti-establishment, but Trump brands himself as that as well so it wouldn't matter too much. College educated Millennials could help prevent a swing towards Trump from happening now that I think about it.

BTW, FL & NC are probably his toughest.

Relatively? Florida. In absolute terms? Either Ohio or Florida.

LOL at citing a poll that shows Clinton +15 over Trump in PA. It just goes to show how meaningless those spring polls were.

Ohio, Florida, Virginia. He would lose all three to Trump unless if Trump has a 35% approval rating by 2020.

Trump would easily carry Florida and Virginia over Sanders.

many in the pro Bernie crowd(which I am not in) state that his populist message is actually appealing to rural folk, which is what would push him over the edge. In the primary this was certainly true, his weak position on gun control helps.

so which is it, does he do better or worse in rural America? two sides have opposite answers it appears
