You're not really missing anything; it's just speculation on what the relationship is between number of posts and number of unique words.

BT has a very small number of unique words for his total post count :S

But you are right, he is 1337. You could even say he is the 13371 (the elite one).

Eventually people are going to say all they're going to say.  For some people, that's a lot; for others, that's less so.  Because of this, after a certain threshold, you aren't going to see a large increase in the number of unique words the person has said.

Thanks Gabu

We all need to stop saying the p-word so much p-pul.

The only word that looks strange to me in that list is "fighter". Must be from the FF/HP threads.

I think its funny that Hughento says whilst 385 times. Thats old school, mate.

"People" and "think" seem to be by far the most used words on this forum (besides words you can't live without, like "the").

Maybe, maybe not. I've always used whilst-maybe it's just me, or my family or something; maybe it's a Melbourne or Australia thing, i'm not sure. But 'while' to me doens't have the same meaning, and also sounds pretty crummy. Whilst sort of 'sharpens' the distinction, too.

So, whilst you believe while is better, I shall continue to give whilst precedence over while.

Question: were a bunch of posts deleted or something?  I'm comparing the number of times StatesRights has said "Lincoln" currently with the number of times StatesRights had said "Lincoln" at the start of the thread, and the number has been cut in half.  I'm hoping that I don't have some strange bug in my program that has somehow come up since last time I put it to use.

EDIT: Actually, the number of instances of just about every word has been roughly cut in half.  Hmm... I'll have to look into this.

Well, let's compare...
Lewis Trondheim

Total words used: 24850

county - 833
think - 791
right - 715
south - 705
people - 698
state - 686
course - 607
seats - 584
party - 561
votes - 556
north - 537
election - 511
bush - 450
states - 404
counties - 392
labour - 387
three - 387
republican - 376
voted - 356
voting - 338
elections - 328
years - 310
point - 309
district - 307
guess - 297

Apparently, Lewis likes counties. Smiley

And "three" is back... what's up with the number three?

Also, Lewis has set a new high score for "most unique words used".
Lewis Trondheim

Total words used: 25651 (high score!)

county - 926
seats - 681
state - 656
think - 652
south - 648
right - 631
votes - 614
people - 583
party - 547
north - 533
first - 518
course - 506
election - 485
because - 434
bush - 412
counties - 401
district - 376
voted - 365
labour - 364
republican - 356
three - 331
states - 324
elections - 313
voting - 310
result - 294
So, since august I've said
first - at least 221
because - at least 137
seats - 97
district - 69
county - 93
votes - 56
counties - 9
voted - 9
result - at least -3
guess - -3 maximum
north - -4
party - -14
elections - -15

years - -16 maximum
republican - -20
labour - -23

three - -56
south - -57
states - -80
right - -84
course - 104
people - -115
think - -139 times.

I wouldn't have thought that many posts had got deleted. Huh
At least I've used 801 words I hadn't used before.

Well, I can't find anything wrong with the program, so I'll have to assume that a whole bunch of old posts got deleted and that we just didn't notice.

So, I've started everyone after Josh22.

I was reading through this thread, and I just discovered you can almost make a sentance using Opie's words.  Take the last 8 words on the list:  "Great America Little Money, Country Against Majority Income."  Almost sounds like an Opie-ism.  hahaha

Gabu, if you are still doing this (only got through page 3), run one on my posts as well.  It will be interesting to see which words I use the most.  Smiley
