All I remember of that movie is a spooky chorus that goes "SAVAGES! SAVAGES! Barely even human!"

Literally this.

"SAVAGES! SAVAGES! They might not even breathe!"

As an American History major, I am obliged to hate Pocahontas on principle.

Um, excuse me? Pocahontas was an anglophile modernizer who, had her reign gone unmolested, would surely have brought her people into the West. A veritable Peter the Great of the Powhatan.

What can you expect from filthy little heathens
Their whole disgusting race is like a curse
Their skin's a hellish red, they're only good when dead
They're vermin as I said and worse

They're
SAVAGES! SAVEGES!
Barely even human!
SAVAGES! SAVEGES!
Drive them from our shore!

They're not like you and me, which mean they must be evil!
We must sound the drums of war!

They're SAVAGES! SAVEGES!
Dirty redskin devils!
Now we sound the drums of war!

This is what we feared
The pale face is a demon
The only thing they feel at all is greed.
Beneath that milky hide, there's emptiness inside
I wonder if they even bleed!

They're
SAVAGES! SAVEGES!
Barely even human!
SAVAGES! SAVEGES!
Killers at the core!

They're different from us, which means they can't be trusted.
We must sound the drums of war!

They're SAVAGES! SAVEGES!
First we deal with this one!
Then we sound the drums of war

SAVAGES! SAVEGES!
Let's go kill a few men
SAVAGES! SAVEGES!
Now it's up to you men!
SAVAGES! SAVEGES!
Barely even human
Now we sound the drums of war!

I learned more about Indians from that movie than I ever did in any textbook.  It's a masterpiece.

You're probably being sarcastic, but if you aren't, this explains a lot.

The movie should have depicted her with her cool hat:

This might be the best summary of the American education system I've ever seen.

And this fared better than Hunchback of Notre Dame originally. Sad!

Yeah, a lot of Disney movies are very problematic for sure. I can't hate "Colors of the Wind", though.

Hunchback of Notre Dame was rad, I loved how dark it was, even as a kid. And it was made significantly happier than the source material!

Yes, exactly! That's why I loved it and love it now as an adult. Its Disney, but with the nightmares cranked up to 11.

"I see her, I feel her..."

Frollo's sexual anxiety as the catalyst of tragic events to come was quite epic.

It's just occurred to me that I've never seen Hunchback of Notre Dame, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, or Cinderella.  And now I feel obliged to bingewatch them.

Also folks, Green Line posts are an acquired taste, I've found.
