Heavily white, fairly well educated (at least in civics), disproportionately male, around 18 to 35 years old, political junkie, with a broad independent streak, socially libertarian, distrustful and cynical to a degree, but isn't completely jaded.

Prefers moderates, bipartisanship, and centrism over hard-line ideology.

A little introverted, grew up on computers, loves the Internet.

Does any part of this sound true?  If not, what is your impression of the general trend of Atlas Forum?  Is it more progressive or more conservative, or fairly mixed?  Is it really more male, younger, whiter?  What are your thoughts?

Looking at a lot of the profiles on another thread, the average age seems to be much younger- like from 13 to 24.  Its great that so many young people are finding this forum and have an interest in civics and political

I remember when Atlas was like 90% gay "no girls allowed" place, with TexasGurl as singular anomaly.

If you're straight and think you may score thanks to your political knowledge, you are going to be seriously disappointed. I guess girls just can't stand me.

If that's the case now, it's only because a good chunk of the Clintocracy went quiet or jumped ship [ex: IceSpear] after the election.

I'd add that it's more of a Centre-left, Tim Kaine-esque lean.

fits me mostly. Main differences are I'm an optimist in outlook and I'm more communitarian than libertarian politically.

Also fits me. I've been leaning a bit more towards the center, or at least supporting more centrist candidates since the election.

Is the forum actually any more white than the North American and European countries from which it draws its membership?

I feel like there are a lot of devout ideologues here, and less centrists.

Most people here are more partisan and less idealogical.
