I would like it if the honorable member was to extend on his reasoning for the bill, as I don't see why this is necessary, now that we know the NLLC is not as big a threat as originally considered to be.

I would also like to hear a formal defense of the proposal. This seems needless.

May the honorable member please come forward and explain why he believes the bill is a necessary addition to the regional government?

At the time of writing the bill, it was to address threats of the NLLC. Now that we know the NLLC isn't that much of a threat, I can agree it isn't all that necessary and should be withdrawn, possibly until a later date.

I would like to consider bumping this bill, in light of the recent terror attacks committed by the "Free the People" organization. Though the event was tragic, we need to do something about it.

Not sure, I suppose that aspect of the bill can be debated. The bill needs a rewrite anyways.

I'm moving this to the first slot on the new revised legislative table (as the current one is rather confusing)

FWIW if we want to free up space we could add in the terrorist Designation Act as an amendment to the bill, seeing as they're essentially on the same broad topic.

As it's been more than 72 hours since this was re-introduced, I'm going to be opening a final vote shortly if there's no objections.

I gotta say, Blair, you did a fantastic job amending that bill. I'd like to point out it still designates the office as "an office to handle and act upon NLLC activities," when it should be updated to leave out the NLLC part, and just hilight the general terrorism aspect. I'd also like to ask if the budget is too high.

I've changed the part you mentioned in the amendment.

If anything I think the budget may be too low; IIRC the last budget had a surplus of $85 billion (and whilst a fair amount of this could get hit by healthcare reform) so I don't think $45 million would be too high, for what is generally a quite expensive job

Okay, so if we were to raise the budget for the new office,  how much should it be increased? If we have $85 billion in the bank to work with, we can definitely pump way more into the project. I don't want to overshoot anything, so I'll ask you first.

Apologies for the late reply; I'm stuck in class, and then on a train for the next 6-7 hours so I should be able to think up some numbers by trying to look at A.) What's been done in the past B.) What the current levels of spending are

I'll have to look into the new federal budget being proposed; but I read that a fair amount of anti-terror funding comes in grants from the Federal Government so we wouldn't have to propose a lot more spending; however I'd want to increase the number because on the whole Lincoln includes a lot of high value, and high cost targets/urban areas (Chicago, New York etc)
