Would US Rep Glen Browder have defeated Jeff Sessions in 1996, had he defeated Bedford in the primary?

Not sure. Browder was typical moderate conservative, but Alabama moved hard right after 1994 and "Contract with America". And here we additionaly have Shelby's example - if he decided that to be even conservative Democrat is unreasonable anymore, then, probably, it's so...
