He donated to Schumer in the past, so it's possible.

Trump views McConnell and Ryan as his "employees" and doesn't like them because they won't do his bidding and subordinate themselves to him.

Trump knows Schumer and Pelosi don't work for him, by virtue of being in a different party. I think that's why he's willing to "make deals" with them but just yell/tweet at his own party's congressional leaders.

Yes. In the meantime he's turning the base against the GOP...so beautiful.

Remember the old theory that Trump was actually a Democratic plant, sent to destroy the GOP and allow Hillary a easy victory? Well what if its true, but he is a even deeper longer term plant? Sent to attack GOP congressional leaders and work with Democratic ones to ensure a big 2018 landslide. After the 2018 elections, Trump will then switch parties to the Democrats. Would that be the troll of the century?

Even if Trump doesn't like Schumer and Pelosi more, he definitely respects them more. To him, there is a level of respect granted for being his sparring partner and opposition leader as it puts them all on a somewhat equal plane, while Ryan and McConnell are reduced to being his subordinates.

Possible with Schumer. He donated to the guy's campaigns in the past. I think that there is some basic understanding on a personal level between the two, although the differ on most issues. However, I think Trump would be open for some Democratic proposals, like infrastructure etc. I personally think it is even possible that Trump would sign a universal health-care bill if passed by a congress completely controlled by Democrats.

Well, he donated to Clinton too, but I somewhat detect no love lost there. Still, he does seem definitely closer on a personal level to Schumer rather than just playing the donate to all parties and power game. He actually had Schumer as a visiting guests on The Apprentice one time and talked about how he's such a good friend.

Schumer is a very sociable guy, and a bit of a showman, so it's no surprise that Trump likes Schumer, especially with their history. Instinctually, Trump is not that far off from Schumer on a lot of issues, so that helps too. Pelosi's perhaps a bit out of touch, but she's a nice enough lady too. Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell are just not nice people, and it's no surprise that Trump doesn't like them. I do give McConnell credit for not even pretending otherwise.

Trump respects Schumer and Pelosi because they fight back and block his agenda. Ryan and McConnell, on the other hand, he thinks are weak because they let him take over their party. It's classic bully psychology.

He is not plant but he is doing damage to the Conservative agenda.

His primary campaign rhetoric -

No Cuts to SS, Medicare, Medicaid
Massive Infra Investments
No to Intervention & unnecessary wars
No to TPP, NAFTA & FTAs
Lobbyists & Campaign donors have bought politicians
Wall Street & Pharma are getting away with murder
Called George Bush (GOP President) a fraud who should have been impeached
Supported Planned Parenthood in GOP Debate & wants to take care of everyone about healthcare

Trump has damaged the conservative agenda. He is the only thing preventing cuts to Social Security, Medicare (although he has backtracked on Medicaid). He has shown that you can run multiple left wing economic policies & destroy conservatives in a GOP primary.

In that respect, he is good for the Dems. And his stance & huge win will definitely create the space for such candidates in the future.

Trump probably has more in common with Schumer and Pelosi than the GOP leadership.  Schumer and Trump are both Ivy Leagued New York City kids, and Pelosi comes from a privileged background very similar to Trump's.

Contrast that with McConnell and Ryan, who both have backgrounds that are much more rural and humble than Trump's.

Trump probably feels a lot more comfortable around Schumer and Pelosi because they're more similar to the people he was around during his real estate/business career.

Sounds on point. I agree with these statements. Trump is a New Yorker, but he comes from that White Collar, Wall Street side of New York. I'm sure he's not fond of the everyday working New Yorker, he just sees them as employees, the way he treated his Trump Hotel workers in Las Vegas is proof. Trump is just that 1% but with no-filter and he wants to get deals done, he knows he needs the Independent voters. He bought into his Alt-Right (Bannon), Anti-Immigrant (Miller) and Supremacists (Sessions) wings of his base that it was the way to go. Trump just wants positive press, he watches Cable News everyday for god-damn sakes. It's mind-numbing, but at least since Kelly has taken over, the bat-sh**t crazies are being weeded out.

Sounds like solid info, since it comes from the same level the President operates at.

Plus, they stroked his ego, played his game, and got him favorable-ish press coverage, so he will be willing to work with them again, as long as it keeps getting him good coverage.
