She's basically a moderate if you put her in European politics. America's Political discourse has moved so far to the right however.

Can either you or PC explain how she is a perfect for the Liberal Democrats, or say the Dutch D66 or En Marche? Are those parties Trotskyist?

Perhaps the original post wasn't specific enough; I guess it would be fairer to say that she's a moderate by Scandinavian or Central European standards. I think we're nitpicking though; the broader point is that the spectrum of political ideology and the placement of "extremes" in the U.S. is very far to the right relative to the rest of the world.

The reason many European countries  can be far left economically are for these reasons:

1. They are much much smaller than the US

2. America basically pays for its defense

This is the international affiliation of Socialist Alternative: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Committee_for_a_Workers%27_International#Sections

I do not see a single moderate European Party, or even center-left...or even for that matter rather leftist but still mainstream and in Parliament party on that list. Even parties like Die Linke and the Swedish Left Party aren't on that list. The Swedish affiliate is a party that received less than a thousand votes last election.

Only here have I heard Gavin Newsom be called a Blue Dog DINO and be compared to Joe Manchin.

Is this the most bizarre non sequtur in Atlas history?
No. I have seen many here be so harsh on Kamala Harris (especially for endorsing Feinstein) as being too "conservative" for Democrats despite getting high ratings form progressive organizations unlike Feinstein. Unlike Feinstein, Harris supports single-payer. Bernie Sanders would endorse Harris if she's the 2020 nominee. Bernie Sanders understands that party unity is important to win and absolute "Green Party purity" isn't a winning strategy.

The simple fact that this exists is proof that Socialist Alternative is not a moderate party in Scandinavia.

Moderates in Europe are people like David Cameron and Emmanuel Macron. Neither wants workers to seize the means of production of large corporations, or completely screw with land use and housing policy, like Sawant does.

David Cameron is a hard right wing guy with an EXTREME conservative bias. This is the same person who did public sector caps, massively cut Corporate taxes, didn't care much about the minimum wage, cut welfare in many areas, increased Pension age (SS) & so on. Between Theresa May & Trump - I would take Trump. Trump is more liberal than May.

Cameron is the same person who himself has investment in Panama in shell companies & so on. He is a uber right wing politician. Blair can be though as a moderate of sorts in some economic areas, not Cameron. The jury is still out on Macron, but his approval ratings has crashed to huge lows but people need 2 give him 2 years before judging him but all signs point out that he will economically right wing guy.

Anything less than 99% for the winner isn't a truly people's democratic election.

I don't know if I'd agree with everything Shadows has stated, but what he's saying is far closer to reality than stating that a member of a literal Trotskyist party is the equivalent of a moderate anywhere in Europe.

And pro-single payer, and pro-immigration, and pro-fifteen dollar minimum wage, and pro-higher taxes on the top 1%...
