What's the difference?

Lenin was concentrated on seizing and holding power, even in one country (so - not according to initial theory of "world proletarian revolution"), he was a brilliant, though absolutely cynical, tactitian after all. Trotsky was closer to initial theory, even saying that for the sake of Revolution it was permissible even to lose power in Russia (absolute "no" for Lenin), for example. There are many other, but this is, probably, the most important.

Difficult to say, exactly because Trotsky didn't had strong ideological views for a long time. He was much better speaker then Stalin (with his Georgia accent) and many other, but, as far as ideology is concerned - who knows?

Trotskyism really only developed after Trotsky was defeated and was largely shaped by that defeat. When he was relevant he tended to argue from the more extreme side of things, but then so did Lenin at times (consider the murderous insanity of War Communism etc) and there was never any indication of a significant body of independent thought. In general the idea that Trotsky was an important or original thinker is a myth.
