Rufus Gifford. Google him. He's the openly gay former ambassador to Denmark. I saw his name on one of the betting sites. It stuck out because I hadn't heard of him. Sitting at 40/1 odds to be the next president. Which are better odds than the likes of Cuomo and Gillibrand and Patrick and other familiar names, all of whom are at 50/1 or longer.

Why? Would Rufus Gifford have a shot if he ran, and is there any indication that he might?

Some random Dane probably placed a bet on him. He was surprisingly well known (and liked) in Denmark for a foreign ambassador. That said, his chances at the Presidency are asymptotic to zero.
