If the low ratings are strictly for political reasons (as in, the person never even read deep into the book), then deletion of the ratings is justifiable. If one can detect that the high reviews are there strictly for publicity, then likewise.

They also delete if there is no proof that the user actually purchased the product. There were a lot of deplorables who were buying the book, leaving terrible reviews, and then revoking their order. The same thing happened with the Donald Trump Christmas ornament until they just removed the item all together.

Yep, deleting fake reviews is a totally legitimate thing. If they want to buy the book and then leave bad reviews, Amazon will let those stand.

Good. The reviews are for people who bought and read the book. Not for people who wish to express their hatred for the author. This was completely logical on Amazon's part. Besides, I'm reading it and it is a very well written book.

It is also now known that Reddit and 4Chan planned an attack on it weeks in advance and I commend Amazon for fighting back against it.

Indeed I would have no qualms about a one-star review by someone who shows signs of having read the book or at least deeply into it to get an impression. How competently is it written? Is it credible? Foers it tell us things that we did not know before that are worthy of knowing?
