A more comprehensive poll seems in order.

I'm not gonna act like I know all that much about German politics, but from my perspective as an outsider:

CDU/CSU: FP, mainly because Merkel has steered them much more towards liberalism and pro-Europeanism. As long as they stay strong supporters of multilateralism through NATO, the EU, the OSCE, etc., I will overlook some of their less savory stances on social issues. We'll see if this stays this way after Merkel steps down.

SPD: FP; boilerplate left-wing politics is totally fine with me. Plus they're pretty good on foreign policy, at least under Schulz.

FDP: FP; they advocate a lot of common sense economic policy that I agree with, and I love their unabashed support of free trade, which includes strengthening the WTO. I hope they can reconcile their differences with the Greens to form the Jamaica coalition, which looks likely at this point.

AfD: Massive HP; xenophobia, climate change denial, protectionism, Euroscepticism... everything about them sucks.

Die Grünen (The Greens): FP; unlike the American Greens, they don't seem to commit themselves to nonsensical foreign policy, and instead mainly focus on environmental and social justice, which is far more agreeable with me.

Die Linke: HP for the same reasons I can't stand Mélenchon, Corbyn, and other useless left-wingers with deranged activist followings. Plus their manifesto is filled with some absolute nonsense including the nationalization of banks, WWII reparations, and Europe-wide referendums which would be total disasters.

Discuss your opinions and such.

CDU/CSU: Lean FP (with Merkel). Merkel's immigration policy wasn't really good for the country (she should have accepted refugees but not have been so "open borders"-type with it), and I don't agree with some of the more socially conservative members, but its economic conservatism is fine with me.

SPD: HP, due to being way too pro-EU and being on the left-wing side of things in Germany

AfD: HP. While I agree with being opposed to the EU, its immigration policy ruins it for me, as well as being skeptics on climate change and being so socially conservative. If they stuck to something along the lines of keeping immigration but limiting the amount of immigrants entering from all continents, then that would be a little easier to support, but their message of keeping out others based on nationality isn't right.

FDP: Massive FF, due to being socially liberal and fiscally conservative.  While I am not as pro-EU as the party is, Christian Lindner would do a good job making sure Germany doesn't get pushed around or anything by the other members

Die Linke: Massive HP, since I don't support its anti-capitalism.

Grüne: Lean HP, since I support their fight against climate change, but the rest of the platform isn't really something I would support (except for some socially liberal issues).

I basically agree with your assessment. The FDP and the Greens are my favorite- income inequality in Germany isn't very bad, so the I agree with many of FDP's economic views and adore their social and pro-EU views, while the Greens are fighting for a very important cause and generally seem like a pragmatic and yet principled force, much, much better than the American Greens. The SPD, while not very exciting, are just standard center left, so I have no qualms calling them a FP. The CDU are also pretty standard center right and Merkel is a capable leader, so lean FP. Linke are radical, anti-Israeli leftists, automatic HP, and the AfD are xenophobes with antisemitic elements, so nope- HP. I'd also put the CSU as HP because of their socially conservative anti-lgbt views, but they're narrowly balanced by the CDU.

CDU/CSU: Lean FP (but only because of Jens Spahn)
SPD: Lean HP, but better than most European social democrats
AfD: HP
FDP: Massive, massive FP
Greens: HP, but no strong feelings
Left: Much worse than the AfD (massive HP)

The SPD isn't a left-wing party, it's a liberal party that has only recently "committed" to reversing Agenda 2010. I also don't see how Corbyn, Melenchon etc. have  "deranged activist followings" (lol wtf) either. What does that even mean?

Anyway, all of them are pretty terrible except for Die Linke, of which my opinion of neutral. The residual Stalinist elements leave much to be desired. The CDU is a conservative party which makes it automatically terrible, the AfD is a menace but not quite as horrible as, say, FN, and the Greens are just another useless liberal party.

Why do you think the AfD is better than the FN? From what I've read it looks like the economic libertarians in the AfD are much stronger than the libertarians in the FN. And I'm not sure whether there are meaningful differences on identity issues (and it looks like Le Pen is better at containing the real deplorables than the AfD leadership...).

That's why the SPD is the only party I could vote for. The others are either right wing or pro-Stasi.
